Kara and J'onn both now have shocked looks on their faces, now realising that Lena has been completely foolish, deciding to run a kryptonite experiment by herself, which has now resulted in Lena making red kryptonite, and exposing herself to it. This is obviously pretty bad, because the group are all too aware of how Kara has acted in the past when she has been exposed to red kryptonite, and right now, it seems like Lena has had an even high concentrate of exposure than Kara ever did, because Kara never had red kryptonite veins on her neck, like Lena does presently. At the same time though, Kara can't help but think that also this is lucky, as if Lena actually made gold kryptonite successfully, and exposed herself to that, she would have lost all her kryptonian powers, and basically become human again, meaning that not only would it increase her risk of dying in a stupid assassination attempt, but it would also decrease Lena's lifespan. This would then mean that Kara would have to live many decades after Lena dies, which is something Kara has always been terrified about, outliving her family by so long. It just makes Kara think about how Lena could be so utterly foolish, despite what she, Eliza, Lillian, Winn and J'onn have said to her. How could Lena put herself at risk like this? She is the mother of multiple children after all, and she shouldn't be doing such needlessly foolish things like this. However, Kara knows that all of those thoughts are things that are just going to have to wait for a little while, as right now, they are going to have to figure out how to deal with Lena. It makes Kara a bit scared about what is going to happen next, because Kara has honestly never seen Lena with such an angry look on her face, and that scares the blonde. Then, what scares her even more, is the thought that Lena might use her powers, and in that case, it may result in an actual physical fight between her and Lena, and Kara isn't sure if she has it in her to actually use her powers on her wife to lay a hand on her, even if it will be protecting Lena in the long run of things. Either way, Kara is not looking forward to these next few minutes.
"Lena, what have you done?" Kara says, with a gasp, and quickly activates her full kryptonite mode suit, as she knows they cannot risk her now being affected by this red kryptonite, as they will have to deal with Lena now.
"I have done what needed to be done." Lena says, "No one else is capable of doing this properly. The rest of you have failed so far, and that is because you are not good enough. None of you are as capable as I am at doing all of this. I need to be the one to make this gold kryptonite, not anyone else. Anyone else will mess it up. I don't trust anyone else to do this properly."
"Lena.... think about what you are saying..... you are saying you don't trust anyone else to make gold kryptonite, but is that gold kryptonite you have in your hands right now? No." Kara says, "That's red kryptonite. So you didn't make gold kryptonite either, and now you are letting that red kryptonite effect you."
"No. That is not true! I am immune to kryptonite! We all know that." Lena says, "And even though this is not gold kryptonite, I made this kryptonite much much faster than the rest of you have been able to make kryptonite so far. So that means I will be able to do this all much much more quickly. And we need to do this quickly. Reign is a threat to all of us, to everyone we care about. Everyone we love and care about is in danger until we can take her powers away. But it seems I am the only one that is desperate enough to do what needs to be done to actually make this gold kryptonite as soon as possible, and protect our family."
"Lena, that is bullshit. That is the red kryptonite talking." Kara says, "This isn't you. You ARE being affected by the red kryptonite. Please..... just... put the kryptonite down..... and let J'onn take care of it..... and dispose of it properly...... and then I will just take you somewhere...... to make sure you are safe."
"No!" Lena yells, "Why are you lying to me, Kara? You are supposed to be my wife! You are supposed to be my partner and trust me! Why can't you see this is what needs to be done, and I am the one that needs to do all this?! I am not being affected by this kryptonite. I have never been as focused as I am now, on the task at hand."
