"HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN A DANE BEFORE?"

The unlikely group were currently walking through a field with long grass up to their knees as the sun beamed down on them.

"Well, I grew up hidden away. My parents wanted me to stay away from all danger." She was tip towing around the fact that the parents in question, happens to be the king and queen. "Then I was sent away to a nunnery to be taught by the nuns there." She explained. "So I suppose I missed all the excitement of the Dane's." Cirilla finished with a laugh, making Stiorra smile.

"What about when you were in Wessex?" The younger girl asked.

"I hear lost of stories about the Danes from Aldehelm and The Lady Aethelflaed, but that's the closet I ever came to them." She explained to the girl. It was true, her sister had been much more exposed to the cruelty or the world. "I was sheltered my whole life, hidden away from everything, good or bad. So this is all a new experience for me." Stiorra smiled at the girl as she admired the field. "And from what I can see, Dane's aren't even half as bad as people make them out to be."

Uhtreds daughter gave Ciri a loving smile. She understood what it was like to be constantly hidden away from the world as she and her brother were forced to run from Alfred and his men for many years. After a second, Stiorras face wrinkled up making Cirilla scrunch her eyebrows down in confusion only for the brunette to sneeze right in her face.

"Stiorra!" She screamed making the men all turn around. "Did no one ever teach you to cover your mouth?!" Stiorra laughed at the girl as she found hilarity in her disgust.

Finan, who did not seem to find the situation funny, whipped around in an instant, his face laced with horror, "What's wrong with you?"

"I have a fever from the grasses," Stiorra protested swiftly, "I do not have it!" She whined.

"Finan, stop being such a baby." Cirilla rolled her eyes at him yet again.

"This is serious!" He exclaimed, eyebrows raised high. "If one of us gets the sickness then we are all done for."

"You fight men as big as bears in battle, yet you are scared of a sickness that none of us have." She explained with a cheeky smile. Finan went to protest but Uhtred interrupted.

"Finan, the sickness would not strike this fast," Uhtred sighed, shaking his head at Finan and adjusting Aelfwynn in his hold as he had taken her from Cirilla.

Finan's face fell, "You've not seen what I have, Lord
-Oh, hey!" He cut off to grab the youngest  boy's hands as they reached to cover his eyes while he held him on his shoulders, "How many times do I have to tell you? You can not do that!" He paused then let out and annoyed huff. "Who are you anyway?"

"I would also like to know that." Ciri added, earning an elbow from Stiorra. During her time with the group she was still yet to find out the young boys name.
