With 6 days remaining until May, Draco scribbled down all of their theories and prophecies into an old, warn notebook with a brown cover. Now that they knew the truth, they needed to think of a counterplan and move into position for battle. Malfoy sat at their makeshift desk area, trying to figure out something plausible to write.

"It has to be close enough to the actual spell that it's believable," he argued to Luna. "We can't change the entire thing."

"Yes, but on the contrary, it needs to be different enough that he won't try it before the last battle. Like it can only be done once," she answered.

"Good-yeah that's good," Malfoy replied scribbling down the thought.

"Okay," Hermione said while standing up and circling to look at Draco's notebook.

Your handwriting is beautiful, she thought.

Focus Granger, he thought back.

She cleared her throat, "Right. Something similar, yet different enough that he would never guess it's a lie. Also, we need to be thorough, Voldemort already doesn't trust Malfoy, given that he cursed him with a prolonged version of a death curse. Snape estimated that you would have less than a year left if we hadn't found Fawkes and healed you. That means Voldemort wasn't planning on keeping you in his inner circle for long. So why would he send you to find the most important part of his plan? Why not someone more trusted?"

"He wants to be the only one alive who can cast the curse, and Malfoy could be easily disposed," Ron shrugged. "Rather selfish fellow."

"So he already knows that he needs the Elder wand, and plans to kill Snape. Giving him that prophecy will only confirm what he already knows, so we should keep it. Let's delete the part that there could be multiple magical objects that are strong enough to cast the spell. He has to think that the Elder wand is the only option," Draco added.

"We should keep the third one," Harry said, "the one about the love being given willingly. Knowing Voldemort, he will assume it's about the castor and not about the deceased."

"Again, selfish fellow," Ron pointed out.

"The prophecy that's about dying in more ways than one should still be included, it sets the theme for the total curse. Voldemort will know you're truly delivering how to bring someone back from the dead," Neville said.

"And we need to keep the proper incantation,"Luna said.

"Okay, these are all similar enough to the true spell. Now, what's the difference?," Harry asked.

Draco drew strawberries in the notebook while they sat in silence. He kept his mind to himself and allowed Hermione to attack the issue from her own angle. Finally, he broke their silence.

"He would only do it once if he was risking the thing that he cares about most- revenge. He's consumed by it. If he thought that the spell could only be used in a moment of most dire need, he would save it until the final battle. No practice runs."

"For too strong is the force to be used exempt of dire need," Hermione said as she watched Draco write it down.

Okay. With this information, Voldemort would think that anyone loyal to him could be sacrificed, he needs the elder wand, and that the curse can only be used once, Draco mentally recited. It could work.

With the edited version of the prophecy, Draco sealed the notebook and their temporary council adjourned.
