Right now I am home, even when I didn't want to be. Naina is still in the hospital and no one knows that so I need to pretend everything is fine.
"Bhai, jaldi neche aa ao", Nidhi shouted
(Bhai, come downstairs quickly)
On reaching the living room, I saw everyone sitting in the living room, and the worst part was that it was all silent.
(What happened, your health is fine, did you get hurt?)
"Mujhe kuch nahi hua hai. Mai bilkul thik hu."
(Nothing happened to me. I am absolutely fine)
"Toh fir kya thik nahi hai?"
(Then what is not fine)
"Bhai, your engagement is in two days. Have you ordered your sherwani?", Nidhi spoke before anyone say anything.
"No, I have not. What it has to do with it."
"Are you really that clueless? Or are you dumb?", Nidhi again said frustratedly.
"Nidhi language!", Chachi spoke sternly.
"Advait, if you have not ordered the sherwani till now, what are you planning to wear on your engagement?", Chachi explained.
"Ohh, I will just choose any suit that I have.", I casually spoke.
"That's not how it works. God, I am so frustrated.", Nidhi screams at the top of her lungs shocking everyone with her outburst.
"Is she on her period?", Sarthak asked in the form of a whisper, but due to the silence, it was audible.
"Yes, I am.", Nidhi replied again in a high-pitched voice.
Well, the women in this house become lovely monsters during their periods. Wait wait wait, I am just saying that they face mood swings and due to unbearable pain, their hormones are at their peak. I know they need support, and I am willing to leave everything to make this time of the month a little easier.
"Bacha sit down. Now tell me what do you want from me? Sarthak go bring the chocolates", I asked trying to calm down Nidhi.
"Already did. Here."
"Bhai, I want you to come with you to choose your sherwani."
"What if I don't want a sherwani?"
"Bhai, it's your engagement. Are you going to wear those stupid suits of yours on such a day.", Meenakshi spoke as soon as I completed.
"Bhabhi(elder sister-in-law), chalo hum engagement ki tariyari check karke aate hai, bacho ko karne do yeh sab.", Chachi said and dragged Maa out, while the rest followed.
(Sister-in-law, let the children discuss all this, we should check on the engagement preparations)
Now only me, Sarthak, Nishi and Meenakshi are left in the house.
"Meenakshi bacha, you know I am not interested in all this stuff."
"Bhai I know you are doing this marriage for Badi-Maa's sake, except for Badi-Maa no one in this house likes her, but even then it's a once-in-a-lifetime event. Once, you tie the knot, you have to fulfil all the responsibilities of being a husband till death.", Meenakshi said and all of this was true, it's not that we can't get a divorce. It's just something that hasn't happened till now.
"Meenakshi and Nidhi you both know this is just a formality, so why put so much effort?"
"Bhai, because it is not only Nikita's wedding but your's also. Agar hum apne bade bhai ki shaadi mei nahi nache to kaha nache.", Meenakshi spoke excitedly to dance.

"Arre madam sabar, aap itni excited kyun ho rahi hai, aap toh nach hi nahi sathi.", Sathak responded

"Shit, bhai please apni engagement ki dates change karlo. Meri delivery ke baad karlo. Please.",
(Bhai please change your engagement dates, to some date after my delivery)
"Meenakshi agar mere hath mei hota toh mei yeh engagement hi nahi hone deta, par mere hath mei kuch bhi nahi hai."
(If it were all in my hand, I would have cancelled the engagement but it's not mine.)
"Bhai, kya fida hua aapke itne bade businessman hone ka jab aap meri into choti si wish hi puri nahi kar sakte ho.", Meenakshi said and sat on the sofa with a pout
(Bhai, what is the benefit of you being such a big businessman when you can't fulfil a small wish of mine)
I kneeled to her level and said, "Meenakshi bacha, apne bhai ko maf karde par is matter mei meh kuch nahi kar sakta. Aur jitni jaldi sei jaldi yeh sab khatam ho jaye, utna hi badiya hai."
(Meenakshi forgive your brother but I cannot do anything with this matter. Additionally, the quicker it all gets over the better it is.)
"Let's leave all this and go shopping for Bhai's Sherwani.", Sarthak said trying to reduce the tension.
" Okay okay let's meet in half an hour downstairs.", Nidhi said and we all went to get ready.
In the room
"Let's do this you keep an eye on Naina and I will return after shopping and let me know if anything happens. Do not move until I reach there."
"Ok, sir."
"Is there any progress?"
"Yes sir, he is..............."
