"Thank you for watching them tonight." Cheryl said as her kids ran up to their room"Of course they're my kids too." Toni said inviting herself into Cheryl's home, which was also her home some time ago
"So why did you need me to watch them tonight?" Toni added hinting at what she thought the reason was
"We aren't together, I don't have to answer that." Cheryl rolled her eyes
Toni sat on the couch and started looking around as if she was inspecting the area for something.
"Okay but you're the mother of my kids. So who was here?"
"Whatever Im a grown ass woman."
"This girl I'm seeing wanted to make dinner for me and thats what she did." Cheryl added and Toni laughed
"I knew it. Why didn't you tell me?" Toni smiled
"It just never came up, we're not serious."
"So you're just fucking-
The kids interrupted Toni by rushing downstairs, "Are we going to watch a movie?"
"Honey, it's 11:30. Way past your bedtime, you guys have to go to sleep." Cheryl said hugging her kids while they whined
"I know guys, go upstairs and I'll be up there in a minute to kiss you goodnight."
"Sleep tight, boys. I love you." Toni said and they gave her a hug
They watched the boys walk up the stairs before they started their conversation again.
"I just can't believe you moved on so quick."
"Ouch."
"No I just meant that you were never the type to do stuff like that."
Cheryl took offense and got up because she had enough of this "catch up" her and her ex were having.
"Time to go home, Toni." Cheryl blurted out
"Wait, Why are you kicking me out?"
Cheryl practically started pushing Toni to her front door, "You don't live here and I'm tired."
"You never answered my question."
"Did you fuck her?" She added as Cheryl had her hand on her chest, still trying to push her out
"What if I did, Antoinette?" Cheryl stopped all her movements
There was a silence for what seems like years to Toni, "Exactly because you get that we're over and it doesn't matter what we do."
"It matters to me." Toni said stepping closer to Cheryl which meant she stepped back into the house
"I don't know why-
"I don't like the idea of just anyone having you like that, in the house where my kids live."
"First of all, she's not just anyone and you had me like that when our kids were literally in their rooms.
"You're contradicting yourself, Toni." Cheryl ranted
"That's different. I can have you right now and there's nothing wrong with that." Toni said and Cheryl stepped back finally letting Toni completely in to the point Toni closed the front door behind her
"Tell me one thing wrong with that."
Cheryl couldn't handle being this close to her ex, she was over Toni but she couldn't help but reminisce.
"We're not together, we broke up. Did you forget?"
"I can't help but remember whenever I hear about you with someone else or even just not waking up next to you anymore." Toni smiled and Cheryl sighed and turned around to walk away from the sweet talker.
