"Are you excited to be back home baby?" Toni's mom asked as she hugged her
"No but I needed it." Toni said with a straight face and her mom pouted
"I missed you ma."
Toni kissed her mom on the cheek before grabbing her keys, "You miss me so much so you're leaving as soon as you get here."
"Mom, I haven't see Jake in a year. We're going out to eat to catch up and I'll come right back home."
"What would really make it up to me is if you take me out tomorrow, your treat." Toni's mom said before Toni smiled and left
Toni drove to the restaurant she was going to meet Jake at and waited for him to get there.
"I know it isn't Toni Topaz!." He practically yelled
Toni hugged before hugging him, "I missed your dumbass."
"I know. How you been holding up?"
"I've been better but Im hoping being back home makes me feel better." Toni responded
"Well Im the best person to call when you want to have great time." He said before dragging Toni into the restaurant
When their waiter sat them down Jake immediately ask for drinks
"On me. You need it."
They ordered and waited for their food so they just caught up while waiting.
"You guys are still together?" Toni asked Jake and he nodded
"Crazy." She replied
"What's so shocking about that?"
"You kept a girl longer than me." Toni said causing them to laugh
"I'm just surprised you haven't found a girl for you after all this time." He said sipping his drink
"To be fair I haven't been looking either since-."
"Being here is making all those memories come back huh?" Jake said sympathetically
"Have you seen her?" Toni asked
"Once, buying fruit."
Toni laughed before the waitress came and them think it was with their food. Two people followed behind.
"Oh my-"
"Your food should be here soon." The waitress said and Jake looked confused until he noticed the girl who sat in the booth next to them.
"I guess I won't be the one making this a fun night." Jake laughed a little tipsy
Cheryl and the girl sitting with her looked and Cheryl's faced immediately turned red.
"You okay? You don't like this seat?" The girl which seemed to be on a date with Cheryl asked
"No, It's okay." Cheryl said adjusting herself in her seat
Toni could see Cheryl had that front of "I'm total bitch and nothing can hurt me" the same front Cheryl had gotten rid of when her Toni started dating and getting closer.
"You wanna move?" Jakes asked
"No." Toni said not taking her eyes off of Cheryl and Jake put his hands up
"Alright then."
Cheryl never looked over at Toni again she only made subtle touches to her date and laughed at every stupid thing she said. Toni looked away for one second and Cheryl was now sitting next to the girl, instead of across from her.
