Chapter 8

"Your majesty." A maid bowed, hands placed on her stomach, not even dare to lift up her face because she knew Taehyung hates that a lot.

She heard a small hum from the man. She got the signal as she reached her hands out and accepted the bag that was passed by Taehyung.

Taehyung walked inside, each steps sounding extra clear and loud because the mansion is always in silence and tension. But suddenly a giggle was heard, followed by a loud squeal.

Taehyung saw a small figure just ran past him. Suddenly the figure seemed to notice his presence as he stopped his steps just beside Taehyung.

A small gasp was heard, "Tae!"

Taehyung looked down, controlled the small cooing sound that he was about to make when he saw baby Jungkook tilted his head, doe eyes filled with happiness as the gold pacifier still in his mouth.

"Tae..." Jungkook said out again. Just now he managed to speak without dropping his pacifier, this time he couldn't. His pacifier dropped onto the shiny floor, stopping Jungkook from hugging Taehyung's leg.

Jungkook clamped his small hands together, staring at the pacifier with his eyebrows creased to cute frown, bottom lips jutted out. "Paci..." he averted his gaze and looked at Taehyung with hopeful eyes.

Taehyung was taken back by the baby's gaze. "What? You want me to pick it up for you?" He let out a scoff, "Let me tell you, I, Kim Taehyung, never ever bend down in front of anyone in my life. I will never break my record because of a mere baby-..."

He stopped speaking when his eyes met Jungkook's. The baby was now holding tears, hands clutched tightly at his bunny onesie. His lips were jutted out, forming a hard pout that makes Taehyung wonder if he could hang something on it.

"V~~~"

Taehyung watched baby Jungkook whining his brother's name before running away in full speed. Not even for a second, V teleported to exactly where Jungkook stood up now with the baby in his arms.

"What happened?" V asked Taehyung, "Why did you make the baby cries?"

Taehyung hadn't gotten the chance to speak as Jungkook spoke before him.

"Paci..." Jungkook pointed at the pacifier on the floor, eyes still holding tears.

V let out a small sigh. "Just because of a pacifier? Petal, you could've picked it up yourself." He said softly, bending down and picked the pacifier up. He managed to do this while holding the baby firmly in his arms.

Taehyung's jaw dropped onto the floor. He couldn't believe his brother spoke so gently, with so much care to Jungkook just now. And petal? A nickname? Since when his brother got so close with the baby? And the almighty V just bent down to pick up the pacifier?!

Taehyung have so many questions running in his head.

"Koo wants Tae pick it." Jungkook muttered. His tears now long gone when he saw his pacifier in V's hand. He reached his chubby hand out to take it but V moved the pacifier further away from him.

Pouty baby is back. Jungkook held a cute frown on his face as he glared at V, "Koo's paci! If V wan, buy it yourself!"

V chuckled out at his words. "And who bought you this pacifier? If I'm not mistaken, it was me." He said, shaking the pacifier in his hand. The pink diamond on it shines along with the movement of V.

"Koo dun care!" Jungkook replied loudly in a sassy way. "Paci!"

"Let me wash it first petal. It was dropped onto the floor just now wasn't it? There's a lot of germs on the floor." V explained. This time, Jungkook seemed to understand what he said as he nodded his head in tiny.

"Go now." Jungkook said, pointing his index finger at the entrance of the dining room.

V shook his head and let out a sigh. He walked along with Jungkook in his arms.

"Wait wait!" Taehyung who witnessed the scene and listened to the conversation quickly stopped V from walking away. He's still hella confused with V's sudden behaviour.

"What?" V turned around and asked, while Jungkook just tilted his head sideways, staring at Taehyung with his wide doe eyes.

"What happened when I'm not around? Did you exchange your brain with an alien or what? Why suddenly you got so close with that creature?!" Taehyung asked, pointing at the baby.

Silence engulfed them after Taehyung's question. Two of them stood there, rather awkwardly.

Suddenly, a small laugh escaped from V's lips. Taehyung stared at his brother with pure confusion in his eyes, still couldn't figure out why suddenly his cold brother became so talkative and laughed so much.

"Taehyung." V called out. He flexed his arm, making the baby in his arms moved a little, "Tomorrow I have a meeting with Yoongi hyung in Daegu. I cannot bring Jungkook there, Namjoon hyung is a sucker for baby. So tomorrow you will take care of the baby."

Taehyung groaned loudly, "Mom still hasn't gone back from her shopping trip?!"

"You know mom. She usually shops for five days and four nights." V shrugged. He felt a tug on his collar so he looked down, finding the baby staring him with droopy eyes.

It's amusing how a baby can get sleepy so suddenly.

"Sleepy..." Jungkook mumbled. He dropped his head on V's hard chest, rubbing his chubby face against the silk fabric. His fingers curled up, forming tiny fists as he placed them on V's hard chest also.

V gave a few light pat on Jungkook's bum, "Then let's sleep." He whispered out, not wanting to startle the baby who's probably already in dreamland playing around.

He turned around, only to earn another yell from his brother.

"You haven't answered my question hyung!"

"You will know it once you take him with you tomorrow." V replied without turning around, leaving Taehyung still drowned in questions.
