KIM ESTATE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
The air in the room is thick with tension. The shattered remains of the first vase lie scattered on the floor, but the atmosphere has only grown heavier.
Mrs. Kim watches her husband pace back and forth, his face twisted in frustration and anger. His breathing is labored, each inhale and exhale full of suppressed fury.
The quiet is deafening-until Mr. Kim suddenly grabs another ornate vase from a nearby table. Without a moment's hesitation, he hurls it across the room with a force that seems almost in human.
It crashes against the wall, shattering into pieces just like the first.
Mr. Kim's voice shaking with fury "How dare he! How dare he come into my world and humiliate me like this?!"
His fists are clenched so tightly that his knuckles are white. Mrs. Kim, standing just a few feet away, flinches at the sound of the second vase breaking.
She's grown accustomed to his temper over the years, but tonight... tonight feels different. His rage is raw, unfiltered, as if he's on the verge of losing control completely.
Mrs. Kim her voice trembling but trying to stay composed "Please, stop... breaking things isn't going to help us. We need to calm down and think. Let's think about what we can do now."
She takes a hesitant step toward him, her hands reaching out cautiously, but she doesn't dare touch him.
Mr. Kim continues to pace, his eyes darting wildly as if looking for something else to destroy. His mind is consumed with thoughts of revenge, of regaining the control that Namjoon has taken from him.
"Calm down? You want me to calm down, Seo-yeon? Do you even understand what's happening here? Namjoon has humiliated me in front of the entire board, in front of our partners. He's trying to ruin everything I've built, everything I've sacrificed for this family. He thinks he can beat me at my own game." his voice low but it felt dangerous.
Mrs. Kim swallows hard, trying to maintain her composure.
She knows how dangerous her husband's anger can be, but she also knows that she needs to steer him away from doing something reckless.
"I know you're angry. I am too. But we can't let him provoke us like this. We have to be smart, we have to think ahead. If we react out of anger, we'll only be playing into his hands."
Mr. Kim stops pacing and turns to face her, his eyes blazing with fury. For a moment, it looks as if he might lash out at her, but he doesn't.
Instead, he grabs his phone from his pocket and starts dialing a number, his fingers trembling slightly with barely contained rage.
"Smart? Oh, I'll be smart. I'll show him just how smart I can be."His voice is cold and calculating now, the raw anger giving way to something more dangerous-something darker.
Mrs. Kim watches him with growing fear, but she doesn't dare interrupt him. She knows that look in his eyes, the one he gets when he's planning something ruthless.
"What... what are you doing?" He doesn't answer her right away, instead waiting as the phone rings on the other end. Finally, someone picks up.
Mr. Kim speaking into the phone, his voice calm but dripping with menace "Arrange a meeting. Tomorrow night. The usual place."
There's a pause as the person on the other end speaks, but Mr. Kim's expression doesn't change. He nods to himself, his mind already working through the details of whatever plan he's hatching.
"I don't care if it's last minute. Just make it happen. No one else can know about this."
He cuts the call abruptly, not waiting for a response, and shoves the phone back into his pocket.
His face is unreadable now, a mask of cold determination. Mrs. Kim watches him, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Who was that? What are you planning?"
Mr. Kim turns to face her, a sinister smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
His eyes gleam with something almost triumphant, as if he's already won whatever battle he's about to fight.
"You don't need to worry about that. Just know that by tomorrow night, this will all be under control again."
"What are you talking about? What do you mean by 'under control'? You're not planning something drastic, are you?"
Mr. Kim his voice sharp, cutting her off "Drastic? Namjoon is the one who's playing dirty. He's the one who thought he could outmaneuver me. But he doesn't know what he's up against. He's forgotten who I am."
Mrs. Kim steps closer, her fear growing. She knows her husband's capacity for ruthlessness all too well. "I'm scared. What are you going to do?"
Mr. Kim's eyes narrow, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous whisper.
"I'm going to remind Namjoon exactly who's in charge here. He may have pulled one stunt today, but tomorrow... tomorrow, I'll make sure he regrets ever thinking he could cross me."Mrs. Kim stares at him, her heart sinking.
She's seen this side of him before, but never with this level of intensity. It's as if something inside him has snapped, and she's powerless to stop it.
"Please... don't do anything you'll regret. He's still your son.""No. He stopped being my son the day he turned his back on this family. Now he's just an obstacle. And I don't let obstacles stand in my way."
The coldness in his voice chills her to the bone. She opens her mouth to say something else, to plead with him to reconsider, but the words die on her lips.
She knows it's useless. Once Mr. Kim sets his mind on something, there's no stopping him.
As Mr. Kim turns away from her and walks toward the window, his back rigid with determination, Mrs. Kim can't shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen.
She watches him stare out into the night, his hands clasped behind his back, his mind already working through whatever scheme he's concocted.
Mr. Kim thinking to himself, darkly "Now... let's see, Namjoon. Let's see how you survive this game you've decided to play with me."
