Lauren's POV
Since Camila could not meet me for dinner, I spent my Friday evening with Normani. We hung out at the rooftop cafe we usually went to if we would like to wind down after a long day. I loved to spend my weekends with Camila, but I knew I had friends whom I had to hang out with, too, especially Norman and Keana. Keana could not make it tonight, so it was only Normani. Although I loved spending time with Camila, I would not forget to spend time with my friends. Fortunately, Camila was not that clingy girl.
These past two weeks, I spent my weekends with Camila. I stayed at her place to see how she lived her life. I wanted to get to know her world after she got to know mine during Christmas and New Year. Her world was simpler than mine, but her mind was more complicated than mine. After spending two weekends with her and having glimpses of her daily life, it made me realize that her simplicity was the thing that I was drawn to. She enjoyed arts, music, history, and simple things in life.
Camila was not so much into fashion and makeup. She did not have too many clothes. She was not into heavy makeup, but she knew how to do it when she had to. She knew how to put on light makeup to accentuate her beauty, like when she did it that night when we first met. I loved it that way for her because I did not want her to cover up her natural beauty. She was naturally beautiful. Her natural beauty was so enchanting to me. She knew she was beautiful, but shedid not realize how beautiful she was. I would make her see how beautiful she was.
Getting to know her life and her world, I found it interesting. Her life and her world were the opposite of mine. Her world was simpler, calmer, and unproblematic, while mine was more complicated, competitive, and aggressive. Probably, that was why I was attracted to her. As told, the opposite attracted. Her presence brought the peace and balance that I needed. That was what I loved being with, spending time with her. She was the missing piece I needed.
"How is it going with Camila?" Normani asked when we finished our dinner, chilling before going home.
"It's going well." I could not see my smile, but I undoubtedly felt my happy smile.
Normani smiled, "You are really in love, aren't you?!"
"Yea..." I smiled again.
"Who would have guessed, A simple, younger girl, popped up out of nowhere and made you fall in love. She did not even try, did she?!" Normani knew how many women constantly trying to win my heart. I did not even bug. I didn't say they were not amazing. They were. It's just that none of them made my heart beat for them.
"Yea..." I could only agree.
"Do you think you like her because she did not try to attract you?!" Normani liked to analyze things.
"Hmm..." I tried to imagine if Camila tried to get my attention from the beginning, would I fall for her?! "I think it would not make a big difference, but it did intrigue me," I asked Normani since she was my best friend. "What do you think about her?"
"Does my opinion matter?" She took a sip of her drink.
"Yes, for sure. To make sure I did not lose my mind when I lost my heart to her." I admitted I was crazy in love with Camila.
"She's beautiful, even though she doesn't fall into the type you are known for." Normani was right, even though I did not have a type.
"Character or personality-wise?" I knew Normani and Camila had not spent much time together, but I was sure Normani could share something.
