As you made your way into the school building, you were quickly greeted by Randy, who was standing at the front doors with Billy. It was a surprising sight, considering the two of them rarely hung out together outside of their usual crew.

Randy spotted you first and pointed dramatically, yelling, "IT'S ALIVE!"

Billy quickly smacked his head, a mix of exasperation and amusement on his face. That interaction made you smile, the lightness of their banter momentarily easing the weight on your shoulders.

"What?! What did I do?" Randy asked, turning to face Billy, confusion etched across his face.

"He just had a near-death experience yesterday," Billy said, a hint of reproach in his tone. "Don't you think you should be a little more thoughtful? He almost fucking died!"

"Well, am I wrong? He's alive!" Randy shot back, his eyes sparkling with his signature enthusiasm. He then dashed over to you and enveloped you in a bear hug. You hugged him back awkwardly, unsure of how to react given the circumstances.

Billy shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips as he walked toward you and Randy. "You really need to think before you speak, you know that?" he said, his tone teasing but gentle.

"Hey, it's a valid reaction!" Randy protested, still bouncing on his heels. "What kind of friend would I be if I didn't celebrate your miraculous return from the dead?"

You couldn't help but chuckle at their dynamic as you all walked to the other side of the building where your next class was.

Randy was passionately discussing his theories about who the killer could be, launching into a wild speculation about a classmate who was always a little too quiet.

Meanwhile, Billy shot him skeptical glances, as if trying to decipher just how serious Randy really was.

As you approached the entrance to your classroom, you turned to the boys, feeling grateful for their support. "Thanks for the walk, guys. I'll catch you later."

"Stay safe," Billy said, his tone suddenly serious. You nodded, appreciating the sentiment.

"Yeah, and remember, if you see any creepy shadows, just scream, and I'll come running" Randy added, winking before heading off with Billy.

You took a deep breath and entered your classroom, hoping the chaos of last night would be a distant memory for your classmates. But as soon as you stepped inside, a group of your classmates swarmed around you, their faces a mix of concern and curiosity.

"Y/N, are you okay?" one girl asked, her eyes wide with worry.

"What happened? We heard you got attacked!" another chimed in.

"Did you see who it was?" someone else pressed.

You felt the heat rise to your cheeks, the attention overwhelming. "I'm fine, really," you managed to say, trying to sound more confident than you felt. "It was just a rough day."

They didn't seem satisfied, though, bombarding you with more questions. You swallowed hard, glancing around for a lifeline. You hoped you wouldn't have to relive the terrifying encounter just yet, especially not with everyone watching.

"Guys, can we just focus on class? I promise I'll tell you everything later," you suggested, trying to steer the conversation back to a more manageable topic.

They hesitated, exchanging glances, but eventually, the bell rang, and the teacher entered the room, cutting through the chatter. You breathed a sigh of relief as the class settled in, grateful for the distraction.

You just needed to get through the day, and then you could figure out your next steps in the ongoing investigation.
