You walked into the school with Randy by your side. He'd met you at the front gates and walked you in.As the two of you moved through the halls, a sudden squeal pierced the air. You turned to see someone in a costume that the killers wore. The person sprinted down the hallway, their footsteps echoing.
"Why are people doing this? This is not funny," Tatum's voice came from behind.
You and Randy turned to see Tatum standing with Billy and Stu.
"Are you kidding?!" Stu grinned. "It's like Christmas!"
"Stupidity leak," Tatum said, smacking Stu on the head with her lollipop
"Take it easy!" Stu said, rubbing the spot. "It's just a joke." he frowned
Another person in costume dashed past, making Tatum flipped them off, shouting a string of curses as they went.
Randy eyed Stu suspiciously. "I don't get how you're enjoying this."
"It's not just the costumes, dude. It's the chaos," Stu grinned wider. "You know, mix things up a little."
A third shriek echoed down the hallway, and Tatum smacked Stu's shoulder. "Do something!"
Stu, grinning like a Cheshire cat, obliged. He stuck his long leg out just as the third costumed runner dashed past. The runner tripped, sprawling across the floor, their mask sliding off.
Teachers were on the scene in seconds, whisking the poor guy away to the principal's office. Stu's laughter filled the hallway, and it was contagious. You, Randy, and Billy couldn't help but chuckle along.
Once everyone calmed down, Tatum waved you all off. "Later, guys. I'm hitting the bathroom."
----
As the loudspeaker announcement echoed through the school, the principal's voice commanding everyone to head home, you, Randy, and Billy glanced at each other.
The chaos of the hallways quickly turned into hurried shuffling as students grabbed their bags and headed toward the exits. Something serious must have gone down.
You caught sight of Stu in the crowd, his arm wrapped tightly around Tatum as they made their way toward you.
She looked pale, shaken, like she had just gone through something horrific. Randy nudged you, and you immediately made your way toward them.
"I don't know what happened back there, but I think the entire student body owes you a thank-you for getting us out of school," Stu said
"Ugh, all of this is just so frustrating," Tatum replied, her annoyance evident. "i just want the police to find the killer quickly so i can go home a sleep peacefully"
"Absolutely not! Everyone knows that sleeping makes you vulnerable to a killer. Have you seen Black Christmas? Hello?!" Randy exclaimed, his voice rising in urgency.
"And I'm not letting you out of my sight, so no," Stu insisted, his tone protective as he tightened his grip on her shoulder.
"So...Randy, you still want to hit Blockbuster?" Billy asked, attempting to steer the conversation in a lighter direction.
"Sure!, The place will be packed with people, so it's probably safer than being home alone," Randy suggested, visibly eager for a distraction.
"What about you, Y/n? Wanna come?" Billy asked, turning his attention to you.
