The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains of Georgia's apartment, casting a golden hue across the room. Kadence slowly woke up, the soft sound of birds chirping outside pulling her from her dreams. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the unfamiliar surroundings. As she stretched, the events of the previous day came flooding back—surprising Georgia, their dinner, the laughter, and the easy way they had fallen into conversation.
Kadence smiled to herself, feeling a warmth of contentment spread through her chest. Today would be their first full day together in Munich, and she was determined to make it special. She slipped out of bed, quietly padding to the bathroom to freshen up.
By the time she emerged, she could hear the faint sounds of movement from the kitchen. Georgia was already up, probably making coffee. Kadence chuckled to herself; Georgia had mentioned her love for coffee multiple times during their long conversations.
As Kadence stepped into the kitchen, she found Georgia standing at the counter, two mugs of steaming coffee already prepared. "Morning," Georgia greeted her with a sleepy smile.
"Morning," Kadence replied, moving to sit at the small dining table. "You didn't have to make coffee for me, you know."
Georgia laughed lightly, sliding a mug toward Kadence. "I figured you could use it. Besides, I like making coffee. It's my morning ritual."
Kadence took a sip, savouring the warmth. "You're a lifesaver."
They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, sipping their drinks and enjoying the peaceful morning atmosphere. Outside, the streets of Munich were just beginning to stir, but inside Georgia's cosy apartment, everything felt calm and slow.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Georgia asked after a while, her brown eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Kadence had been thinking about that all morning. "I was hoping you could show me around Munich," she said with a grin. "I've been here for fashion shows and events before, but I've never really had time to explore. Plus, who better to show me around than you?"
Georgia's face lit up. "I can do that! There are so many spots I want to show you. We could go to the English Garden, maybe stop by a few cafes, and if you're up for it, I could show you the Bayern Munich stadium."
"That sounds perfect," Kadence said, her heart warming at the idea of spending a full day just exploring and being with Georgia. She wasn't sure what it was about the footballer, but Kadence already felt so comfortable around her. There was something about Georgia's easy-going nature and dry sense of humour that made her feel at ease.
After finishing their coffee and getting ready, the two of them set off to explore the city. Kadence opted for a casual yet chic outfit—ripped jeans, a white tee, and oversized sunglasses—while Georgia went with a sporty look, pairing leggings with a simple hoodie.
Their first stop was the English Garden, one of the largest urban parks in the world. The sun was shining brightly as they strolled along the wide paths, passing locals walking their dogs, joggers, and families enjoying the fresh air. Georgia pointed out various landmarks, sharing bits of history and personal anecdotes along the way.
As they neared the serene man-made lake in the centre of the park, Kadence couldn't help but feel like she was getting a glimpse into a side of Munich she hadn't known before. It wasn't the glitzy, event-filled version she had been used to during her modelling trips; it was peaceful, quiet, and charming.
Georgia seemed to notice Kadence's quiet reflection. "I love it here," she said softly, walking beside her. "Whenever I need a break from football, I come here to clear my head."
"I can see why," Kadence replied, glancing around at the beautiful scenery. "It's a little escape in the middle of the city."
As they continued their walk, the conversation flowed naturally. They talked about everything—football, fashion, their careers, their families. Kadence found herself opening up in ways she hadn't expected, telling Georgia about the pressures of growing up in the public eye and the struggles of constantly being scrutinised by the media.
Georgia listened intently, nodding thoughtfully as Kadence spoke. "I can't imagine what that must be like," she said. "I mean, I get some attention because of football, but it's nothing compared to what you go through. It's like the world feels entitled to every part of your life."
Kadence smiled softly, grateful for the understanding. "Exactly. It's exhausting sometimes, but it's also the life I've chosen. I just have to find ways to balance it all."
"Well, if you ever need to escape it, you're always welcome in Munich," Georgia offered with a smile. "No paparazzi here."
Kadence chuckled. "I might just take you up on that."
After their long walk through the park, the two of them decided to stop by a cosy café that Georgia loved. The small, rustic café was tucked away on a quiet street, its outdoor seating shaded by leafy trees. Kadence ordered a salad while Georgia opted for a sandwich, and they sat at a table outside, enjoying the food and each other's company.
As they ate, Georgia told Kadence funny stories about her Lioness teammates, making her laugh so hard she nearly spilled her drink. "I swear, Ella can never keep a straight face during team meetings," Georgia said, shaking her head. "We get called out for it all the time."
Kadence laughed, wiping a tear from her eye. "You guys sound like you have so much fun together. I wish I had that kind of camaraderie in the modelling world."
"Yeah, it's great," Georgia agreed. "It's like a second family."
They spent the rest of the afternoon wandering the streets of Munich, popping into boutiques and taking in the city's beautiful architecture. At one point, Georgia took Kadence to the famous Marienplatz, where they watched the Glockenspiel in action, the intricately carved figures spinning and dancing to the sound of bells.
Kadence couldn't stop smiling. She hadn't realised how much she needed this—a day of pure fun, with no expectations or pressures. Just her and Georgia, enjoying each other's company and exploring a beautiful city.
As the day began to wind down, Kadence and Georgia returned to the apartment, tired but happy. They had walked miles, and Kadence could feel the exhaustion settling into her bones, but it was a good kind of tired—the kind that comes from a day well spent.
"I don't know about you, but I'm starving," Georgia said as they kicked off their shoes and flopped onto the couch.
"Me too," Kadence agreed. "How about we cook something simple for dinner?"
They headed into the kitchen and worked together to prepare a quick meal—pasta with a homemade tomato sauce. Kadence enjoyed the rhythm they had developed in the kitchen, the way they moved around each other with ease. There was no awkwardness, no need to fill the silence with forced conversation. It was comfortable.
As they sat down to eat, Kadence found herself feeling a sense of contentment she hadn't felt in a long time. She looked across the table at Georgia, who was digging into her pasta with enthusiasm, and couldn't help but smile. This day had been perfect in its simplicity—just two people enjoying each other's company, away from the chaos of their busy lives.
Later that evening, after dinner, they curled up on the couch to watch a movie. Georgia chose a lighthearted comedy, and they spent the next couple of hours laughing at the ridiculous antics on screen.
As the credits rolled, Kadence glanced over at Georgia and felt a flutter in her chest. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew one thing for sure—she was really starting to like this girl.
"I had a great time today," Kadence said softly, breaking the comfortable silence.
Georgia smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Me too. Today was perfect."
They sat in silence for a moment longer, the warmth of the day still lingering in the air. Tomorrow would bring new adventures, but for now, Kadence was happy just being here, with Georgia, in this quiet little corner of the world.
