The next morning, Kadence awoke to the smell of breakfast wafting from the kitchen. She stretched, her mind still replaying last night—the laughter, the easy conversation, and that kiss. She smiled to herself, feeling an unfamiliar warmth at the thought of Georgia. With a renewed sense of excitement, she slipped into a comfortable outfit and made her way into the kitchen.
Georgia was at the stove, flipping pancakes. She glanced over her shoulder as Kadence entered, giving her a warm smile.
"Good morning," Georgia said, a little bit of pancake batter on her cheek.
"Morning," Kadence replied, stifling a laugh as she pointed to the batter. "You've got a little something... right here."
Georgia wiped her cheek, blushing as she laughed. "Cooking isn't exactly my strong suit, but I figured I'd give breakfast a try. Thought we could start the day off right."
Kadence took a seat at the table, watching as Georgia brought over a stack of golden pancakes and a side of fresh fruit. The breakfast was simple, but it felt special—a quiet, intimate moment shared just between the two of them.
"This looks amazing," Kadence said, reaching for a pancake. "Thanks, Georgia. This is really sweet."
They ate their breakfast in companionable silence, exchanging occasional smiles and light touches. Kadence savoured every bite, appreciating the homemade feel and the effort Georgia had put into it.
"So," Georgia said as she poured them both some coffee, "I thought we could spend the day a little differently today. There's this place I go to sometimes, a bit outside the city. It's kind of... an escape from the world."
Kadence's eyes lit up with interest. "An escape sounds perfect. Where are we going?"
Georgia smiled, leaning forward. "It's a secret. But I promise, you'll love it."
After breakfast, they hopped into Georgia's car and headed out of the city. The road was scenic, winding through picturesque Bavarian landscapes, with fields of wildflowers and dense, green forests. Kadence felt a sense of peace wash over her, the hustle and bustle of city life melting away with every mile.
They finally pulled up to a secluded parking area, and Georgia led Kadence down a small path into the forest. The air was fresh, filled with the scent of pine and wildflowers, and Kadence found herself completely captivated by the beauty of it all.
After a short hike, they arrived at the base of a towering rock wall. Kadence looked up, her mouth dropping open as she took in the sheer height of it.
"Wait... are we rock climbing?" she asked, turning to Georgia with a mixture of surprise and excitement.
Georgia grinned, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "I thought it would be fun! I come here sometimes to blow off steam. Don't worry, I brought extra gear for you."
Kadence's heart raced as she considered the idea. She'd never gone rock climbing before, but there was something exhilarating about trying it with Georgia by her side.
"I'm in," she said with a smile. "Let's do this."
Georgia helped Kadence into a harness, showing her how to clip in and explaining the basics of climbing. Kadence listened carefully, nodding as Georgia went over the safety rules. Despite the height of the climb, she felt a sense of calm knowing that Georgia would be right there with her.
As they started to climb, Kadence found herself drawn into the challenge, focusing on every handhold and foothold. Georgia moved with confidence and grace, her athleticism and experience evident in the way she navigated the wall. Kadence followed her lead, feeling a mixture of excitement and adrenaline as she reached new heights.
