The gathering that evening was a carefully orchestrated affair. Elara and Korran had chosen a secluded location—an ancient stone tower on the castle grounds, far removed from prying eyes. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the loyal lords and ladies filtered in, their expressions a blend of concern and resolve. As they settled in, Korran stood to address them. "Thank you all for coming on such short notice. We face a challenge from within our ranks, one that seeks to undermine the very foundation of our governance." Elara watched the reactions closely. Some lords nodded in agreement, while others appeared uneasy. "What do you suggest we do?" one of them asked, his voice trembling slightly. "We need to solidify our alliance," Korran replied. "The trial council is our opportunity to demonstrate that we are responsive to the needs of the kingdom. We must rally support around it." Elara interjected, "If we can show the commoners that we are united, it will strengthen our position against those who wish to see us fail. We need to engage them, involve them in the council process. We can't afford to lose their trust." Lord Roderick, a stalwart ally, raised his hand. "What about Evander and Celeste? They won't back down easily." Korran's gaze hardened. "Then we must expose their intentions. We'll gather evidence of their treachery and present it to the council. Let them see that dissent within our ranks will not be tolerated." Elara felt a surge of determination. "We can use the upcoming council meeting to confront them directly. Let the commoners witness their betrayal. It will galvanize support for us and weaken their influence." As the meeting continued, a plan began to take shape. They would confront Evander and Celeste publicly, a risky maneuver, but one that could solidify their standing if executed correctly. Elara felt the weight of the decision pressing down on her; failure was not an option.
