Anjali: "It was nice meeting you, Mr. Aryan," she said with a soft smile. "Goodbye."
Aryan: "Not goodbye. When you say goodbye, it feels like there's no hope of meeting again," he said, his steady eyes seeming to peer into her soul. He wasn't sure why he said it, but his heart felt an odd connection, as if urging him to hold on to this moment for just a little longer.
Arushi's POV:
"Ugh, that freaky creature completely ruined my mood. What else could go wrong today?" I was grumbling to myself when the professor walked into the class.
Not long after, all our attention shifted to the door. There he was—the freaky creature himself. As soon as he entered, his fan club—I mean, his fangirls—started squealing like they'd just seen a movie star.
"Ugh, I'll never understand their obsession with him," I muttered to myself. And then, to make things worse, he looked right at me and winked.
Wait. He winked at me?! Ugh. Now all these fangirls will stare at me ughhh,Just looking at him makes me want to gag,. I rolled my eyes, trying to tune out the commotion and focus on the professor's lecture, but it was next to impossible with all the whispering and giggling going on around me.And why did he have to wink at me? Now I was caught in the middle of all this unnecessary attention.
Just as I was about to lose my temper, the professor snapped me back to reality. "Arushi, can you answer the question on the board?"
Oh great, just what I needed—more distractions. I looked at the board, trying to make sense of the equation in front of me.
Taking a deep breath, I stood up and explained the solution as best I could, all the while feeling the freaky creature's eyes on me. After I finished, I quickly sat back down, avoiding any eye contact with him or anyone else.
The rest of the class passed in a blur, and the second the bell rang, I grabbed my stuff and rushed out. I needed air, and more importantly, I needed to get away from him.But just as I was about to escape, the professor dropped a bombshell:
"Before mid-semester exams, you will all need to work on a project in pairs. And no, you won't be picking your partners. I've already made the pairs myself."
My heart sank as I braced for the inevitable disaster. The professor started announcing the pairs, and then my name came up. "Arushi, you're paired with... Aahan."Wait, what?!
I couldn't believe it. Aahan? Out of all the people in the class, I had to be paired with him? I glanced over at Aahan, who seemed equally surprised but, of course, he couldn't resist smirking at me.
I could feel my frustration rising. Just my luck. "Why him? Why out of all the people does it have to be him?"
The rest of the announcements went unheard as my brain spiraled into thoughts of how this project was going to be a complete disaster. Aahan and I barely knew each other, and now we had to work together on a project? Fantastic.
