Anjali's POV:

My purse slipped from my hands, and I stumbled back. Aryan's eyes widened in shock as he called out my name, stepping toward me. But I couldn't bear to stay a second longer.

My legs moved independently as I rushed out of the room, his voice echoing behind me.

Tears clouded my vision, blurring everything around me. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going.

My heart ached, and my mind raced with the betrayal I had just witnessed.

Suddenly,

I felt my body collide with something hard. Pain shot through me as I fell to the ground. The world spun around me, and the sound of Aryan's frantic voice grew louder.

I blinked, struggling to stay conscious, but the edges of my vision darkened. The only thing I could whisper before everything went black was, "M-my b-baby..."

Aryan's POV:

I was running after her, my heart pounding in my chest. "Anjali, listen to me!" I called out, desperation thick in my voice. I needed her to stop, to hear me, to believe me.

I hadn't done anything wrong, but the fear and heartbreak in her eyes crushed me.

She didn't stop, though. She just kept running, her sobs audible even from a distance.

I quickened my pace, calling her name again and again. Suddenly, a loud honk shattered the air.

Before I could react, a speeding truck came out of nowhere and hit her with a sickening thud.

Time slowed as I saw her body collapse onto the road, blood pooling around her.

"J-jaann!" I screamed, sprinting toward her. My legs felt heavy, and my chest constricted as if my heart had stopped beating.

I fell to my knees beside her, my hands trembling as I gently lifted her head and placed it in my lap.

Her face was pale, her breaths shallow, but her lips moved weakly. "M-my b-baby..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.

My gaze dropped to her hands, protectively cradling her stomach, and a fresh wave of guilt and terror consumed me.

"No, no, no..." I muttered, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my face. "Anjali, stay with me! Please!"

I pressed my forehead against hers, my hands shaking as I tried to stop the bleeding with whatever I could find.

People gathered around, some shouting for help, but it all felt like a blur. My entire focus was on her.

The ambulance arrived moments later, though it felt like an eternity. The paramedics pushed me aside gently as they worked to stabilize her.

"Please save her! Save both of them!" I begged, clutching one of the paramedic's arms as they carried her onto the stretcher.
