Aryan's POV

As I reached home, I saw Tanu sitting with Mom. I walked over, a little surprised, and asked,

"Tanu, you're still here? Weren't you supposed to leave today?"

"I didn't go," she said with a casual shrug. I nodded, accepting the answer, but a familiar voice came from behind me before I could say anything else.

I turned around and saw Tanu's older brother, Ruhan, walking in.

"How are you, Aryan?" he asked, his voice carrying that easy-going tone I remembered.

I nodded again and replied, "I'm good. What about you?"

He flashed a small smile and said, "Yeah, I'm doing well. Actually, Tanishka insisted that I come here with her, so... here I am."

Just as I was about to respond, Mom chimed in with a warm smile, "It's always nice to have family over. Why don't you both stay for dinner?"

Ruhan glanced at Tanu and nodded. "Sure, why not? It's been a while since we've had a proper meal together."

Tanu looked at me and smiled, but there was something in her expression—something I couldn't quite place.

END POV

**Aryan's POV**

Aryan headed to his room to freshen up, just about to step into the washroom when his phone rang. It was Arushi.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Wassup, Ary—oops, Jiju!" she teased on the other end.

"Aish, come on," he replied, a slight blush creeping onto his cheeks.

"Yeah, so I called to ask what's the plan for Anjali's birthday," she said.

Aryan froze for a moment, realizing he hadn't given it much thought yet. "Oh... Anjali's birthday, right," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

 "I haven't planned anything yet."

On the other end, Arushi sighed dramatically. "Seriously, Aryan? This is her first birthday with you as her... well, you know. It has to be special! You can't just show up with flowers and cake!"

He chuckled nervously. "Yeah, you're right. I want to make it perfect, but I have no clue what to do."

"Good thing you have me!" Arushi said, her voice bubbling with excitement.

"I'll help you plan something amazing. Maybe something personal and meaningful—something that'll sweep her off her feet!"

Aryan smiled, feeling grateful for Arushi's help. "Alright, I'm in. Let's make it something she'll never forget."
