After college, Arushi pulled up in front of Anjali's house. She honked lightly and waited, glancing up at the house. For a moment, she worried that Anjali might change her mind. But then, the front door opened, and Anjali stepped out, her face slightly pale but determined.
Arushi beamed as Anjali slid into the passenger seat. "Ready to go?"
Anjali gave a small nod. "Yeah."
As they drove toward the mall, the car was filled with soft music from the radio. Arushi kept the conversation light, chatting about college, funny incidents, and little things happening around her. Anjali mostly listened, occasionally nodding or giving short replies.
When they finally reached the mall, Arushi parked the car and turned to Anjali with a grin. "Ready for some shopping?" she asked excitedly.
Anjali hesitated, then murmured, "Hmmm, I guess."
Arushi rolled her eyes playfully. "Come on, show a little excitement! It'll be fun, trust me!"
They stepped out of the car and entered the bustling mall. The lively atmosphere made Anjali a bit uneasy. Sensing her discomfort, Arushi gently looped her arm through Anjali's. "Don't worry; we're just going to chill. A little shopping, a little hanging out. Totally stress-free."
Anjali gave a small smile, feeling a little more at ease. As they wandered through the mall, browsing stores and occasionally stopping to check out clothes, Arushi suddenly froze, her eyes wide with mischief.
"Uh-oh, Anjali, don't look now, but guess who just walked in," Arushi whispered, a playful grin spreading across her face.
Anjali frowned in confusion. "What?"
Before she could ask again, Arushi turned toward a nearby store entrance and waved dramatically. "Aahan!"
Anjali hadn't expected to run into anyone she knew. She instinctively stepped a little behind Arushi, but it was too late.
"Hello Aryan,?" Arushi said, sounding both surprised and excited.
Aahan grinned as they approached. "Arushi, Anjali! What's up? What are you two doing here?"
Arushi smirked. "Shopping, obviously! What about you guys?"
"Just hanging out. Big bro had some errands to run, so I decided to tag along. Now that we're free, we thought we'd explore a bit," Aahan replied casually, gesturing toward Aryan.
Aryan turned to Anjali, his gaze softening. "Hey," he said, his voice warm yet cautious.
Anjali looked up briefly, her heart racing a little. "Hi," she replied softly, almost a whisper.
There was a brief moment of silence before Arushi, sensing the awkwardness, quickly jumped in. "So, Aryan, Aahan, are you guys shopping too, or just here for a stroll?"
