Chapter 31: A New Revelation

Y/N's Pov

"I know you are not of this world.”

My breath hitched. What did she just say?

“And you already know your destiny,” she continued, her gaze piercing. “So don’t try to change your path.”
The words echoed in the small, dimly lit stall, and for a second, it felt like everything around me had gone silent.

I couldn’t move, couldn’t think. What did she mean? How could she know?

Before I could even respond, the woman leaned back, her eyes dimming once more, as though she hadn’t just dropped a bombshell on me.“Your future is set, my dear,” she said softly. “Do not stray from it.”
The weight of her words pressed down on me, leaving me frozen in place.

I yanked my hands away from hers and stood up so quickly that the chair nearly toppled over. Panic surged through me, my heart racing as I fought to control the rising tide of fear. Without another word, I turned on my heel and rushed out of the tent, desperate to escape the suffocating air inside.

I didn’t stop until I was outside, the cool breeze hitting my face, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me. My secret—one I had been so careful to protect—had somehow been exposed, and I didn’t know how or why.

Who was this woman?
How did she know?

As I hurried outside, Eliza and Jasmine, who had been chatting near the entrance, immediately noticed my pale, panicked face.

"Isabella, are you alright?" Eliza asked, her eyes wide with concern. She reached out, placing a gentle hand on my arm.

I forced a shaky smile, trying to mask the terror still racing through me. "I'm fine," I lied, my voice trembling just a little. "It’s nothing, really."

Jasmine raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "You don’t look fine. Did something happen in there?"

I shook my head quickly. "No, no, it’s nothing. The fortune-telling was just… a little intense. That’s all."

Both girls exchanged a glance, their concern evident, but thankfully, they didn’t push the subject further. I wasn’t ready to explain what had just happened—or rather, I didn’t know how to explain it without sounding like I was losing my mind.

"Okay," Jasmine said softly, though the look in her eyes said she didn’t fully believe me. "But if you want to talk about it later, we’re here."

I nodded, grateful for her kindness even though the last thing I wanted to do was revisit that terrifying encounter. "Thanks. I’ll be fine."

I tried to shake off the lingering fear as we left the marketplace, but no matter how hard I tried, the old woman’s words clung to me like a shadow. I could feel them crawling under my skin, settling deep within me, and no amount of reassurance could rid me of the dread that had taken root.

Felix's POV

My heart was racing as I made my way toward Donghyuk and Changbin’s estate, the weight of my deception pressing heavily on my chest. This time, I wasn’t just here to listen or to assist in their plans. This time, I had a new purpose—a dangerous one.

I was going to sabotage them.

The thought made my stomach churn. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off, but I had to try. For Eliza, for the others—for myself. I needed to put an end to the madness I had helped create.
