Chapter 33: He knows my secret

Hyunjin’s POV
I had only meant to wait in her room for a few minutes—just long enough to ask her about some final details for the Winter Ball. But as I adjusted myself in the chair, a small, worn-out diary fell from the desk.
I frowned, as I picked up the fallen dairy. A pen was lodged between the pages, marking a specific entry. As, I picked it up, the marked page where the pen had been placed was opened . My eyes skimmed over the neat handwriting—Isabella’s, or at least it should have been Isabella’s.
But what I read... it made my blood run cold.
"EVENTS THAT OCCURRED AFTER I CAME TO THIS WORLD"
My heart raced as I read further. The words were clear—this wasn’t just Isabella’s diary. Whoever wrote this was not Isabella, not the one we knew, anyway. The entries described all the recent events that had happened but was in comparison to something occurring in a novel.
This... wasn’t real?
I was still trying to wrap my head around it when I heard the door creak open behind me. My head snapped up, and there she was—Isabella, standing in the doorway with a shocked look plastered on her face.
"You’re not Isabella," I muttered, unable to keep the tremor from my voice.
"Who... who exactly are you?"

Y/N’s POV
My heart dropped when I saw him holding the diary. He looked so confused, so... betrayed. I knew there was no turning back now.
"I can explain," I managed to say, my voice shaking as I stepped into the room, closing the door behind me. I could feel the panic rising in my chest, but I needed to stay calm, to make him understand.
"Explain?" Hyunjin’s voice wavered between anger and confusion. "You’re not Isabella. You’re someone else, aren’t you? Are you working for Changbin and Donghyuk? Did they send you? How are you—" He cut himself off, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I don’t understand... you have her face.So you can't be a disguised also......what's going on....??"
I took a deep breath and crossed the room, slowly locking the door behind me. I needed to tell him, but not everything—at least not yet. Just enough so he wouldn’t think I was some sort of spy.
"I’ve been hiding a secret for a while now," I began, choosing my words carefully. "You’re right—I’m not the Isabella you think I am. I’m... from another world. Actually this world....." I gestured around the room "is all part of a novel. A story."
Hyunjin’s eyes widened. "What are you talking about?"
I could see the disbelief in his face, and honestly, I couldn’t blame him. It sounded crazy, even to me. But I had no choice. He’d already seen the diary.
"This world," I continued, "is from a book I used to read. I don’t know how, but one day, I woke up here... in Isabella’s body. I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t even want it... but now I’m here, and I’ve been trying to change her fate."
"Change her fate?" Hyunjin’s expression grew more confused. "What do you mean?"
I hesitated for a moment, then went on. "In the novel, Isabella’s fate was always... tragic. She was destined to die, whether she was guilty or not. No matter what she did, the blame always fell on her. I’ve been trying to change that, to give her a different ending."
