Kayla's apartment was quiet. All you could hear was the rain hitting her windows. She was making herself something to eat.

"I give up." She said to herself as her third attempt of scrambled eggs burned again.

She picked up her phone, ready to order something in before she heard a knock on her door. She opened it, finding Spencer standing there dripping of water. He raised his hand and softly waved in her direction.

"Spencer. What are you doing here?" She questioned, laughing at his wet clothes.

"I was bored." He made his way inside. "And I figured you'd be awake." He explained while grabbing a towel from her bathroom.

"Yeah. No. Sure. Come on in. Make yourself at home." She said in a sarcastic manner.

"Thanks." He answered from the other side of the apartment. "Are you hungry? I brought some takeout." He said while holding up a paper bag.

"Spencer Reid. You are my favorite person in the whole world." She grabbed the bag and made her way to the kitchen with Spencer following closely behind.

"What's with the smell?" He wondered.

"That would be my failed dinner." She pointed at the pan filled with burnt eggs.

He laughed at her and threw away what was inside the pan.

"Chicken sandwich!" She exclaimed. "How are they still warm? You must tell me your secret." She sat down and took a bite of the sandwich.

"Well, for one, I drive a car." He teased her and sat beside her.

"Funny."

After they ate, they went over to the living room where Simba was snuggled on the couch. They sat down next to him.

"So, how'd you know I wasn't asleep?" Kayla questioned.

"You can't sleep when it's raining." He answered, staring into her eyes.

She looked away and cleared her throat. "Do you want a change of clothes? You can't be comfortable in those."

"I'm fine. I don't think your clothes would fit me anyway." He chuckled softly.

"Oh... Yeah, you're right." She layed back on the couch.

"So, do you want to watch a movie?"

"We could watch Scream." She said excitedly. "I have it on DVD."

"Sound good to me." He chuckled while watching her look for the DVD.

"Here it is." Kayla pulled it out of a drawer and held it up like a prize.

She played the movie and went back on the couch, Spencer covering her with his blanket.

Halfway through the movie, Spencer's phone rang.

"Yeah, Hotch." He spoke through the phone.

"No. It was just getting interesting." She whispered in annoyance.

He laughed at her while still on the phone. "I'll be there. Kayla? She's not answering her phone? I can go pick her up." He looked at her, smiling, while she checked her phone for missing calls. "Alright. See you there."

"We have a case." He explained to her.

"Damn it. What about the movie?" She looked at him with puppy eyes.

"We'll finish it another time. Now come on, you dork."

"Stop calling me a dork, you nerd." She yelled while going to get her bag.
