Today was a good day. The sun breached through the windows of Kayla's apartment. She was cleaning up her space since they rarely got any days off.

She wanted to do something more relaxing with her free time, but everyone seemed to have other plans.

Kayla was playing with Simba when her phone rang. Hotch.

"Please don't tell me we have a case." She spoke, without giving the man time to say anything.

"No. That's not why I called you." He paused. "Listen, I know this is our day off, and I wouldn't ask you if I had any other choice..."

"You're scaring me." Kayla interrupted. "Did you kill someone? Do you need help hiding the body?" She joked, and even though the man's voice still remained stiff, she knew she made him smile.

"I need someone to take care of Jack tonight. We had a babysitter, but she just canceled, and we don't know who else to ask.."

"Yes." The girl exclaimed. "I'll do it. I'm bored out of my mind."

"You don't have any plans?" Hotch asked.

"No. Because all of you people have dates to go on." She teased. "When is your date?"

"We have a reservation at 8. We'd drop him off at about 7:30. Does that work for you?"

"Absolutely. See you then." The girl told him and hung up the phone, getting back to her cat.

"What so you say, Simba? Will you be nice to little Jack?" Kayla softly whispered to her cat while petting him.

While sitting on the couch, doing nothing, she thought about something that might cure her boredom.

Spencer's apartment was not that far away, and she could walk there, but something made her stop in her tracks. Although he didn't mention anything, she still felt weird about the kiss. After what happened, they didn't really have the opportunity to speak about it, and she didn't want things to be awkward between them.

"You know what, Simba?" Her voice pulled the kitty from his slumber. "I think I'm gonna go to him. It's going to be fine, right?" She saw the cat's eye staring at her.

"Yeah, you're probably not going to answer. I'm going insane." She spoke to herself while getting dressed to leave the house.

The door to his apartment seemed larger than usual. Or maybe it was just her thoughts that made it look bigger. She slowly raised her hand and knocked softly, waiting for a response.

After a few seconds, the door was opening, revealing Spencer standing there. He looked at her, waiting for a greet from her, but all he got was her staring at him.

"Did someone hypnotize you?" He broke the silence, snapping his fingers in her face.

"What? No." She said defensively while pushing his hand away.

Kayla still didn't say anything and got lost in her thoughts, making Spencer say something.

"Do you want to come in?" He gestured her inside. "Or did you come all the way here to stare at my door?"

"Oh. Yeah. Sorry." She mumbled and got inside.

"Are you hungry? Thirsty?" He questioned her as he led her to his living room. It was the total opposite from Kayla's. Neat, organized, well lit, and spacious.
