Light peered through the windows. He felt warmth surrounding him, and he could hear wood rustling. He looked around and saw Kayla, who was still unconscious after hours of them being in what seemed like a cabin.

"Kayla." Spencer tried to talk to her. "You need to wake up."

He saw the girl's eyes slowly open as she looked around her in confusion without speaking. He sighed in relief, now knowing that she's at least alive.

"Are you okay?" He asked, making her abruptly glance at him, with a terrified expression. "You're okay. It's just me." He spoke calmly.

Her gaze softened, and she stared at him, analyzing every inch of his face.

"You're bleeding." She stated, looking at the side of his head.

"So are you." His eyes pointing at her head. He saw the way her head began to fall and her inability to stay awake. "You can't fall asleep. Alright? Let's talk."

"I don't think this is the place for a chat, Doctor Reid." She snarkly spoke. Although usually this would annoy Spencer, he felt relieved the girl was speaking.

"Humor me." He saw the girl's eyes travel to his bare and bruised feet.

"What happened?" She asked with worry filling her voice.

"Nothing you need to worry about right now." Spencer said, hoping he could convince her to let it go, but by the look in her, he knew she wouldn't. "Please." He followed up with. Although he told himself he didn't want to scare her more, deep down, he actually hoped not to have to talk about what went down.

She looked at him and gave him a reassuring nod.

"Do you know where we are?" She tried her best to change the subject.

"I have no idea." He answered.

"Do you think they figured out we're missing yet?" She questioned.

"The team? Yeah. I'm sure they're looking for us as we speak." He tried to sound sure about the fact, but he doubted the team knew already.

"Are you okay?" He felt as if she could see right through him.

"I feel like every time we get paired up on a case, something happens." He tried to lighten the mood a bit.

"I think Hotch already hates himself for his decisions." She joked back, both of them chuckling softly before remembering where they were.

Silence filled the room, and all that could be heard was the small fire from the corner of the room.

The darkness now took over the room, but somehow, it made her feel safer, as if the dark could protect her from everything.

Suddenly, the door creeped open, revealing the man they questioned with a dead animal in his arms.

"You need to eat." His voice sounded like a little boy's.

"What's your name?" Spencer's question confused her. It was Tobias Hankel. How could he not know?

"Tobias." The man spoke softly. It didn't make sense to her. Although Spencer refused to say anything, she knew something had happened while she wasn't awake, and by the man's appearance, it couldn't have been him who hurt Spencer.

"Tobias, who was here before?" Spencer inquired.

"It was probably my father." Tobias said and glanced over to Spencer's bare feet. "I'm sorry if he hurt you." He said while buckling his belt around the male agent's arm.
