The buzz of excitement filled the air as Lando and Oscar stepped into the vibrant club. Neon lights flickered, and the bass of the music pulsed through their veins. They were there to forget about the photos that had been circulated by Carlos and Max, hoping to lose themselves in the night and escape the drama for a while. Lando wrapped an arm around Oscar's shoulders, pulling him closer as they made their way to the bar.
"Let's just have fun tonight, yeah?" Lando said, giving Oscar a warm smile.
Oscar nodded, his face lighting up with a shy smile. "Yeah, I'd like that."
They ordered their drinks and joined their friends on the dance floor. Lando couldn't help but be captivated by the way Oscar moved, the two of them creating their own little world in the crowded space. For a moment, everything felt perfect—just two people having the time of their lives.
Meanwhile, in a dimly lit corner, Carlos and Max were watching them, their eyes cold with envy. Max took a sip of his drink, his gaze fixed on Lando. "So, what's the plan?" he asked.
Carlos smirked, his eyes never leaving Lando and Oscar. "We'll wait until they're comfortable. Then we make our move."
As the night went on, Lando stepped away to grab another round of drinks, leaving Oscar to enjoy himself. It was at that moment when Carlos gave a subtle signal to a girl standing near the bar. Her name was Elena, one of Carlos' friends who agreed to help out for some quick cash and a bit of excitement. She sauntered over to Oscar, casually slipping something into the drink she was holding before handing it to him.
"Hey, you look like you could use another," she said with a flirty smile.
Oscar took the drink, unaware of her intentions, and took a sip. They began chatting, but Oscar kept glancing around, clearly waiting for Lando to return. As time passed, Oscar started to feel dizzy, his vision blurring slightly, and his body feeling strangely heavy.
"Are you okay?" Elena asked, feigning concern as she placed a hand on his arm. "Maybe you should sit down."
Oscar nodded, his head spinning. "Yeah, I think... I think I need to sit for a bit."
Elena took his hand, guiding him towards a quiet corner of the club where it was less crowded. Oscar stumbled slightly, feeling more unsteady with each step. He tried to focus, tried to keep his thoughts straight, but everything felt hazy. He kept pushing her away gently whenever she got too close, mumbling, "No, I have a boyfriend... Lando..."
Elena chuckled softly, clearly not taking him seriously. "Sure, sure. Just relax, okay?"
On the other side of the club, Carlos was doing his best to keep Lando distracted. He struck up a conversation about old memories, purposely steering the conversation away from where Oscar was. But Lando couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
"Why do you keep looking over there?" Carlos asked, his tone tinged with irritation.
"Because I need to check on Oscar," Lando replied, a hint of worry creeping into his voice. "He's been gone for a while."
"Relax, he's fine," Carlos insisted. "Probably just talking to some people."
Lando shook his head. "No, I should go see him."
But just as he turned to walk away, Carlos leaned in, his voice low. "You know, I saw him with some girl earlier. They were getting pretty close."
Lando froze. "What are you talking about?"
"Don't believe me? Go see for yourself," Carlos challenged, a smirk playing on his lips.
Confusion and doubt filled Lando's mind, but he pushed through the crowd, searching for Oscar. It didn't take long to find him; Oscar was hugging Elena, trying to steady himself, and they were heading upstairs together. Lando's heart sank, and he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He couldn't hear what they were saying, couldn't understand that Oscar was desperately trying to push her away while struggling to keep his balance.
Lando stood there for a moment, feeling completely shattered. His mind raced, and the image of Oscar with another person burned into his thoughts. He turned on his heel and stormed out of the club, not caring who saw him leave, and ignoring Carlos's triumphant expression as he disappeared into the night.
Upstairs, Elena led Oscar into a small private room, closing the door behind them. She moved closer, but Oscar, despite his dizziness and confusion, kept his hands up to keep her away.
"No, I said no," he murmured, his words slurring together. "I... I love Lando."
Elena sighed, clearly annoyed. "You're not making this easy, you know."
Oscar pushed her back one more time, shaking his head. "Please... I just want Lando..."
The desperation in his voice must've struck a chord with Elena because she paused, a flicker of guilt flashing across her face. She sighed heavily. "Whatever," she muttered. "You're not worth the effort anyway." With that, she walked out, leaving Oscar alone, barely able to keep himself upright.
It took him a few minutes to gather enough strength to leave the room. He stumbled his way downstairs, searching desperately for Lando, only to find that he was gone. Panic set in, and he frantically checked his phone. There were no messages, just silence. Oscar's heart sank, and he felt tears stinging his eyes as he realized Lando might have seen him with that girl and misunderstood everything.
Carlos spotted him from across the room and sauntered over, wearing a fake expression of concern. "Oscar, are you okay?"
"Where's Lando?" Oscar croaked, barely able to keep himself upright.
"Oh, he left," Carlos said with a shrug. "He saw you and that girl together and didn't seem too happy."
Oscar's world felt like it was crumbling around him. "No... it's not what it looks like," he whispered, more to himself than to Carlos.
Carlos's expression softened, but there was a dangerous glint in his eyes. "You know, maybe Lando's not the right one for you. He doesn't understand you like I do."
O scar blinked at him, trying to process what Carlos was saying. But before he could respond, Arthur appeared, having seen the exchange from a distance. "Get away from him, Carlos," Arthur snapped, stepping protectively between Oscar and Carlos.
Carlos raised his hands in mock surrender. "Relax, I'm just trying to help."
"You've done enough," Arthur shot back, his voice firm. "Come on, Oscar. Let's get you home."
Oscar leaned heavily on Arthur, his heart aching as they walked out of the club. He knew he had to explain everything to Lando, to make him understand what really happened. But for now, all he could do was hope that Lando would give him the chance.
The night had started as a way to forget their troubles, but it had ended with even more heartache and misunderstanding. As Oscar glanced back one last time at the club, he saw Carlos watching them, a twisted smile on his face, and he knew that this was far from over.
