And love is like the sea,
so peaceful and serene.

Its surface,
a beauty of one kind.

Yet when you venture deep, far beneath the soothing waves,
you realise that there is more to what the eye can see.

It was almost like a door to a twisted fantasy.

But the sea can be ferocious,
with its overwhelming tsunami,
and so you thrash and you scream, gasping so desperately,
but you can't seem to get out.

And then a part of you seems to swim away, far from reach.
A blanket of gloom falls upon as you sulk beneath the waves, crying salty tears as the water sucks it away.

But the sea can also be a comfort, capturing your tears,
with its constant waves lapping against you.
And the waves lift you, from beneath the waters as the sun greets you, kissing your face.
And the waves sing a song, an infinite lullaby as the sun glares its light ever so desperately.

But you pay no heed to the warning,
and you again plunge yourself into another twisted fantasy.

And before you know it.

The song transitions into an infinite scream,
and you realise that you've fallen into a nightmare.

But the screaming never stops,
even after you found your way to the safety of the sand,
even after you ran and ran and ran.

Because the sea took a part of you with it,
leaving a scar as deep as its own self.
