Maya's Pov

My bitchy co-worker startles, then turns around to face my wife. "No, Mrs Deluca. I was actually thinking if you're not busy later. You and I could find a place to talk."

She has a look of fury in her eyes but her body is still relaxed. "I'm not interested in woman with questionable morals. I am a very busy woman and I actually work here. Unlike you. Pack your things and leave my building. Mrs Deluca is not only your superior but she is also my wife. You must have some nerve. How dare you have the audacity to insult her and then go ahead and insult me. My company needs employees with brainpower and integrity. You have neither. You have fifteen minutes to leave."

My mouth hits the floor. I am shocked by what has just transpired. Carina pulls me from my chair and plants a deeps passionate kiss on my lips. "I am sorry bella that you had to listen to such disrespect from such a shitty woman. You will not be insulted again, la mia bellissima moglie." She kisses me again before walking back into her office. The entire floor has gone quiet, while heads turn to look at me. 

Mr Montgomery stands up and claps his hands twice. "What are you lot staring at? I am sure you all have work to do, so go. Get busy." I give Mr Montgomery a thank you smile. He gives me a cheeky wink then sits back at his desk, returning to his own work. Ivan and Peter soon come up to our floor and exit the elevator and walk up to my now ex-coworkers desk. They oversee her as she finishes packing her things up. She gives me a death glare but I just bite my tongue and keep on smiling. I sip my peppermint tea that my lovely wife so sweetly warmed up for me. My stomach begins to settle and I shift my attention back to my work.

Andy's article hit the newsstands and gained a lot of attention. Just in time too. Two more articles popped up the same day as hers did but with her references, the other two articles were discredited. She stated clear facts and interviewed Ryan, Dean and Mr Montgomery to support her claims. The reporter of the first article was found to be a 'Special friend' of Miss Cavanaugh. Because he pissed off the wrong person, namely Carina, that ended up with the reported being fired and Andy got the job.

The other two articles ended up having a drop in company sales for the week. The gossip around the office died quickly after the bitchy girl got fired. No one wanted to insult the bosses. I continue to do my work like i normally would.

Carina and I have an OBGYN appointment today. It's my first visit and I am really nervous. Carina found the best OB in the state and set up the appointment. She doesn't want the media to know about the baby, so we make a stop at a nearby parking garage where Ryan is waiting fro us in one of Carinas lesser known vehicles, the lexus. It's so pretty. Ryan is a good driver but on occasion he has a habit of taking weird routes to get us where we are needing to go. Today is no different.

We arrive at the doctors office and I'm so confused. there is no one around. It's like a ghost town when we walk in. "Where is everyone?"

Carina holds my hips from behind me and whispers in my ear. "I made the arrangements so we can control the number of people that are aware of your pregnancy bella." The only one there is a nurse. She greets us and shows us to a room. She takes my vitals and has me follow her to another room with a titled exam bed thing and a giant television screen. She asks me to get undressed from the bottom down and gives me a paper sheet. I am waiting on the exam bed when there is a knock on the door. I am expecting the nurse but Carina surprises me when she walks in along with the nurse. I'm glad she is here. She is like a rock I can always lean on, especially in my most nerve wracking situations.

"Alright, sweetie, we're going to do an ultrasound and see if we can find a heartbeat. This ultrasound isn't like what you see on TV, where they put a wand on the belly. No this is called a transvaginal ultrasound." The nurse puts a condom on a stick and squeezes gel on the tip. "Okay, deep breath, sweetie."

Carina is at my side, holding my hand as she inserts the stick thing. Can you say awkward? The screen goes black and white. There is a small white little dot, it looks like a little gummy bear. "There, that's your baby. You're 6 weeks and 5 days. Let's see if we can get a heartbeat, it might be a little early though." She presses on the buttons, then nothin. "Still just a little too early, We'll get it next time." The nurse hands Carina a picture of my gummy bear and then lets me get dressed. 

Carina's POV

Maya enters the room and I can't look at her. Six, almost seven weeks. She told me she was a virgin and that I took it from her. How can that be? She was so sincere when she told me, how could I not believe her? Six weeks pregnant. There must be a mistake. I saw her innocence. I felt her innocence. Six weeks? Did she play me? It has tp be someones else's baby. I'm crushed. My beautiful, perfect wife. The only person in this world I truly care about is not what I thought and it is killing me. It hurts so much. She betrayed me. How can I live with her now? 

I care about her so much. How can I live without her? We made a deal so I am not backing out of it, but how can I ever trust her again? My heart sinks in my chest and my hands are going clammy. 

Doctor Wilson enters the room right behind Maya. "Mrs Deluca, everything looks great. We will see you once a month until you get to 28 weeks, then we'll start seeing you more often. I'll write a prescription for prenatal vitamins. I recommend taking them at night, they tend to make morning sickness worse. Next visit we'll take some blood work. Sound good?"

I cant hold back. I have to address my concerns to the doctor. I have to make it clear that I k now she lied to me. "I have one question. The timing doesn't line up. We've only been together a month and she was a virgin. How can she be 6 weeks."
