The next morning my alarm went off. I finally had a peaceful night. I didn't have a nightmare so I didn't have to worry about not getting much sleep since I ran out of my sleeping pills for when I get those nightmares. Maybe it's because I didn't have to stress much about my identity but today I do. I got to get ready for school. The bus will be coming in less than an hour.

I got out of bed and found a cute red skirt and shirt to wear with my sneakers. I always dress like the humans to fit in. I usually wear fancy dresses or dark clothing but if I did that in school I could be revealed. I even have to wear fake teeth to pretend that I don't have fangs. If my fake teeth ever came out at school I could feast for blood and be revealed. My sister always told me to do my best to hide everything or I would be revealed. I listen to her since she has been through everything.

After I got dressed and put in my fake teeth, I left my room. "Goodmorning mom and dad" I said to them as I came down the stairs. They were on the sofa. "Goodmorning my dear creature, how did you sleep?" My mom asked. "Good mom. I do need a refill of my emergency sleep medicine when possible" I said. "We know. Your sister told us yesterday. Next time tell us on time and yourself" my dad said. I rolled my eyes and went into the kitchen to grab a banana. My sister was on a barstool. "Potassium today? That's odd" she laughed. I ignored her smart comment. She always gotta make a whole deal over everything I do. This is why I hate how she thinks she is better than me.

After I had my banana, I got my backpack and kissed my parents goodbye. I headed outside to catch the bus. As soon as I got outside, the bus arrived so I got on. I always sat in the front by myself. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I was a junior so I was one of the older kids on the bus. The younger ones always were loud and sat in the back. My bus driver never told them to be quiet and never really paid attention to anything that goes on. That's why my bus is always getting inspected. My school had these checks on some days. They inspect our bags and everything to make sure we don't have weapons or drugs. I understand why they do that for humans but vampires don't wanna do drugs or even have weapons since we have our fangs. I just can't say anything or I'm caught.

Luckily when we arrived at school, today we didn't have to do one of those checks so I could just go see my best friend right away. We always met in the main hallway before class. Our high school was two stories. Freshman and sophomore classes on the first floor while junior and senior classes are on the second floor. The gym and cafeteria are also on the first floor while the library is on the second floor. After I saw my best friend, I headed upstairs to the junior hall. I went to my locker. Usually I am the only one at the lockers, but this one boy I never seen before came next to mine. "Hey, is this the junior hall?" He asked me. "Yes, are you new here?" I asked. "Oh yes, I am Damian. I just transferred here from my old school in Lancaster. My parents wanted to move to Erie because of the lake life. I am a junior and my locker number is 181. Yours must be 182 I see" he explained. I nodded and allowed him to get his things inside his locker. "I am Violet. I'm a junior too. Grew up here in Erie" I introduced myself. Damian was kinda cute to be honest. He had soft brown hair with cute little freckles and hazel eyes. Maybe he could be a crush for now. If I find out more about him, maybe he could be my first love for the ball. I could be dreaming though. Anyways I closed my locker and walked off to my first class. I took my normal seat in English and got everything out of my binder for class. That boy came in. He had English first too. He sat next to me at the table since he knew me and I always sat alone. "Hey again" he smiled. I looked at him and waved. This new boy was cute but if I talked to him I will start to get nosy about him. I don't wanna make my crush for him obvious. Our class started, had some notes and got a little assignment. Throughout the day, he had some of my same classes but I kept quiet. Plus if I talked to him, he could ask about me and I would have to lie. I'm scared for lunch. He could possibly try to sit with me and my best friend. Plus when I first talked to him, I could sense his blood was strong. I know I said I don't wanna bite my lover but since we ain't in love yet I am hungry for his blood. I don't wanna bite him because if I do love him I wanna leave him alone. I just gotta fight off the hunger.

When lunch time happened, me and my best friend sat in a corner booth. I saw Damian walk in and sit alone at one of the small tables. Thank goodness he didn't see me. I'm not ready to talk with him yet again. I told my best friend about my crush for him. She thought I was crazy to fall in love with a new boy but I felt my feelings fresh and my hunger for his blood came up again when I talked about him. Luckily my lunch helped with the hunger.

After lunch, I had my final classes for the day and then went home. I had to hide my crush news from my sister. If she knew, she would tell my parents and they would pressure me into a relationship with him immediately. I had some homework so luckily I could just go in my room to get  it done. My mom made dinner. We all ate and I ended my night with some television and reading before bed as I let my medicine kicked in. I saw my mom got me more of my emergency sleep medication on my dresser. Once my bedtime medicine kicked in, I curled up and set my alarm once again for school. Then I finally fell asleep, maybe I'll dream about Damian. He is one cute boy that I could feast on or be in love with. Just gotta find out what is best to do.
