We moved as fast as we could, the urgency of Senpai’s condition pushing us forward. Alec carried him effortlessly, despite the weight and strain. His steps were hurried but careful, his eyes never leaving the path ahead. Kyran led the way, occasionally glancing back at us, worry etched deep in his features.
Valerie walked beside Alec, her hand hovering over Senpai as if just touching him could stop the bleeding. Every so often, she whispered words of comfort, though her voice trembled with fear.
The dirt path felt never-ending, and the looming trees seemed to close in around us. The silence had shifted; it wasn’t the same eerie calm from earlier. Now, it felt more alive, like something was out there, watching, waiting.
"How much further?" Gold asked, her voice strained with panic.
"Not far," Kyran answered, though even he didn’t sound sure. "The road should be close. From there, we can make it to the town."
