I lay sleeping in my bed at my new apartment when a knock at the door startled me awake.

It's 2:04 in the morning, who the hell is at my door? Actually, who the hell has my address?!

Rising, I slipped into my (f/c) slippers and moved toward the sound. As I opened the door, I was met by a girl about my age, her long black hair cascading over a cream-colored dress.

"Can I help you?" I asked, not recognizing her.

"Well, seeing that we're coworkers now, I wanted to get to know you, (Y/n)." She nervously blushed, staring at the ground.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" My confusion grew by the second. I don't have any female coworkers.

"Oh, that's right, you never heard me talk before or seen me without my mask."

My jaw dropped. "Gin!?"

"Yeah."

I widened the door further, my disbelief persisting. "Come in, I'll make some tea."

Gin and I made our way to the kitchen. She took a seat on one of the stools as I began to heat the kettle.

"No offense, but I thought you were a guy," I admitted.

"It's fine, I do that on purpose," she giggled. "It's nice not being the only girl in the Black Lizard anymore."

"Yeah, it's good to know that I won't be surrounded by three guys 24/7." I laughed, pouring us two cups of tea. "Well, you said you want to get to know each other, so why don't you start?"

"Alright." She took a sip of her tea. "My name is Gin Akutagawa, and I joined the mafia because of my older brother."

"Wait, you're Akutagawa's sister?" Hirotsu told me about the one that they called the mafia's dog. He's a dangerous ability user that manipulates the cloth of his jacket.

"Yes, he is." The gleeful expression on her face suddenly turned into a more depressed one. "We used to live in the slums and almost died. Ryuu was found by a high-ranking mafia member, who convinced him to join. I followed him and ended up receiving training from an executive. Paul Verlaine to be exact."

"That sounds terrible," I thought out loud. I don't know who Verlaine is, but if he taught Gin, then he must be powerful.

"Actually, I enjoy my time in the mafia." Her smile returned. "It was fun once I was skilled enough to fight on my own."

"You really are a girl boss, Gin," I admitted. "I've heard good things about your assassinations from Hirotsu."

"Really?" The raven-haired girl blushed. "Thank you. Your skill with the sniper was pretty cool too. Even from the top of that tall building, you managed to hit the guy in the middle of his forehead."

"Thanks." I sheepishly rubbed the back of my head. "It took years of practice, but I got the hang of it."

"Years of practice?"

Oh shit, I shouldn't have said that.

"A family friend of mine was really into guns, so he taught me how to use them at a young age. My older brother also taught me how to wield a sword."

The first part was a complete lie; one of the Captain's men taught me how to shoot a gun. I just picked it up quicker than most people do. The second part was partially true. Tecchou was the one to teach me how to use a sword correctly. He was the one Hunting Dog I was acquainted with before I had actually started working with him, aside from the Captain of course. The Hunting Dogs are my family, which technically makes Tecchou my brother.

"I don't really care for guns myself," Gin revealed. "I like how I have more control over my knife."

"Makes sense, since you were trained to be a close combat fighter." I didn't want her to ask anything more about my past, so I decided to change the subject. "Hey, why don't we go somewhere?"

"Sounds fun to me!"

-At The Bathhouse-

"This wasn't what I was thinking when you said fun." I sweat dropped, holding my towel tightly.

Well... at least it's just us, since normal people would be sleeping or chilling at home right about now.

"From what I was told, having a bath with your friends helps them become closer." She grabbed my hand, pulling me into the water.

Before fully getting in, we sat our towels to the side and put our hair in buns, to prevent it from getting wet. The water is a nice temperature, I'll give this place credit for that.

"You know, there's been something I've been meaning to ask you about." Gin looked at me, while we sat in the giant tub.

"What is it?"

"Tachihara's been acting weird ever since the mission last week." She swam up to me, standing up. "Know anything about that?"

I blushed, thinking about what happened. "I-I... you better not tell anyone I told you this, especially not Tachihara."

Gin gasped. "So, you do know something!? Okay, I promise not to say anything."

"When we were making our escape, we ran into some trouble, so we hid in a storage closet," I explained. "That dumbass forgot to turn his ringer off, and he got a call, giving away our position. In order to make us look not suspicious, I kissed him."

"You kissed Tachihara?!"

"It didn't mean anything!" I huffed. "I just prevented us from getting caught, that's all."

"You didn't enjoy it?" Gin questioned.

"I thought nothing of it, now can we drop this?!"

"Fine." The girl pouted.

That night, Gin's words plagued my mind. 'You didn't enjoy it?' I don't know, did I? No, this is stupid. I'm a good guy, I can't fall for someone in the mafia. This wasn't part of my mission description.
