-Two Months Later-
Tachihara, Gin, and I were waiting in the lounge for Mr. Hirotsu's return. He had been summoned to the Boss's office to receive orders for our squad. Gin still didn't talk when she was in her mafia attire, but that didn't stop us from texting each other instead. Apparently, me and a few others were the only people to know of her actual gender. Mr. Hirotsu and Tachihara were not a part of that few, still thinking that she is a dude.

Gin:
Do you wanna know who scares me the most in the Port Mafia?
(Y/n):
Scares you?
I gotta know this
Gin:
Ok
Do you know who Motojiro Kaji is?
(Y/n):
No
I don't know anyone by name except for us, Akutagawa, and the boss
Gin:
He's the lemon bomber guy
(Y/n):
OMG
I DID SEE HIM
Ngl I think I'd cry if I had to be in the same room as him
Gin:
Fr
His shoes make me question life
(Y/n):
I know
He needs to put those grippers away
Gin:
Those wooden slats need to be set on fire!

Even though Gin maintained a stone-cold expression, I couldn't manage the same. My attempts to stifle my snickers during our conversation were unsuccessful.
"What're you laughing at?" Tachihara asked, his tone nicer than usual.
"Gin and I are making fun of the lemon bomb guy," I admitted.
His voice sounded more defensive than pissed off. "Since when are you two all buddy buddy?"
"Chill, he came over to my apartment the other day to hang out." Gin still wanted me to keep her gender a secret, so I complied.
"He came over to your house?!"
"Yeah, I don't see what the big deal is."
Tachihara faced Gin. "Are you trying to get your way with her, Gin?"
Gin looked at him like he was crazy and violently shook her head 'no'.
"Since when do you care?" I asked him. "I thought you hated me."
"You're not terrible." He turned away, crossing his arms. I swore that I could see a hint of blush on his cheeks. "It's not like you're completely useless."
"Hey! I'm not even close to being useless!"
"I'm back." Mr. Hirotsu entered the room, ready to give us the rundown of our mission. "A group of thugs are being aided by a gifted individual who can control glass. Currently, they are attempting to break into one of the buildings where we house our precious jewels."
"He can control glass?" I questioned.
"Yes, it's lucky that our warehouses don't have windows," he explained. "So, the only way he could use his ability is if he brought glass with him, which we should assume he did."
"Whatever, let's get this over with already."
Tachihara stormed out of the room, as we followed. What is his problem?
-At The Warehouse-
Twenty men stood before the jewel warehouse door. One might assume they would have broken in within the last thirty minutes, yet they had not. Nineteen of them wielded a large tree as a battering ram, while the twentieth man stood aside, directing their efforts. Well, I guess we know who the one in charge is. It's the gifted.
Out of my peripheral vision, I noticed a tree stump that was surrounded by branches. Did they spend the majority of the time it took for us to respond cutting down a tree?
"You do realize that you're trying to break into a Port Mafia storage house, right?" Mr. Hirotsu stepped forward.
In addition to Mr. Hirotsu, Gin, Tachihara, and myself, fifteen mafia soldiers were standing beside us.
"Uh, I just came here for the jewels, man." One of the men shrugged, continuing his barrage.
"Was this really worth all of us coming here?" I looked at Gin, who shrugged.
"Doesn't look like it." Tachihara sighed, throwing his hands behind his head.
"Don't think that we're not going down without a fight!" The leader proclaimed. "I'm gonna kill you all with my GLASS ATTACK!"
You're joking?
The man took a handful of glass shards from out of his pocket, shooting them at us. This power is straight up strange. It's useful, but I feel like there's a better way he could be using his ability. I dodged in every way imaginable, going up, down, left, right, and repeating. Not even one shard got remotely close to me.
"You have shitty aim." Tachihara retorted, pulling out his gun and shooting him twice.
Ten out of the fifteen men remained from our ranks, so they fired their machine guns, mowing down the rest of the thieves.
"Well, that was a waste of time," Hirotsu sighed.
"That ability user was so lame." I sighed, placing my arm on my friend's shoulder. "Right Gin?"
She nodded, earning us an angry look from Tachihara.
I raised my brow, looking over at the red head. "What's your problem?"
"Nothing."
He marched off, unwilling to continue the conversation. I was on the verge of pursuing him when Gin tugged at my sleeve, murmuring into my ear.
"He was staring at you after the glass guy's attack."
"What?"
"Tachihara looked a little concerned. I think he was worried about you getting hurt."
He's being nicer to me than he was in the beginning, but he still seems to somewhat dislike me.
"What? There's no way he'd do that." I looked down at my shoes, as a glimmer of sadness crossed my features. "We're not even friends yet."
It's hard for me to convince myself otherwise. I think that I might be falling for the guy who's supposed to be my enemy.
