~ Yuna, 4 years old ~

The sun beamed brightly overhead, casting a warm glow on the small patch of grass where four-year-old Yuna lay, her long white hair splayed out like a halo around her head. She looked up at the clear blue sky, momentarily forgetting the grim reality of the orphanage behind her. Beside her, Hiro, a little boy with tousled brown hair, laughed as he rolled over to face her.

“Yuna! Look at me!” he exclaimed, balancing precariously on one foot. He stumbled and fell onto the grass with a soft thud, and they both burst into giggles.

Nearby, Niko and Hana played on the slide, their joyous shouts echoing through the yard. Niko, with his dark curls, climbed up the slide with determination, while Hana cheered him on from the bottom. For a moment, it felt like they were all just kids having fun, free from worry.

But Yuna’s smile faded as she gazed at her friends. Deep down, a heavy feeling weighed on her heart. She sighed hard, her small frame sinking into the soft grass.

“What’s wrong, Yuna?” Hiro asked, noticing her sigh. He propped himself up on one elbow, concern etched on his innocent face.

“I just... I wish someone would adopt me,” Yuna admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’m tired of this place.” She glanced back toward the orphanage, where the strict guardians often yelled at the children. They were quick to punish any misbehavior, and sometimes, when the kids didn't listen, they went without food for days. The thought made her stomach twist in knots.

Hiro nodded, his expression mirroring her sadness. “Me too. I want to get out of this hell faster,” he replied, his small hands clenching into fists.

After a moment of silence, Hiro’s face brightened with an idea. He reached out and extended his pinky finger toward her. “Let’s make a promise! When we grow up, we’ll meet again and stay friends forever!”

Yuna’s eyes widened with a mix of surprise and joy. A promise! The thought warmed her heart. She smiled brightly, connecting her pinky with his, sealing their vow. “I promise, Hiro!”

With their fingers linked, they both felt a sense of hope, a flicker of light in their otherwise dark world. In that moment, surrounded by laughter and the innocence of childhood, Yuna believed that one day, they would find their way out together.

As they continued to play, the shadows of the orphanage loomed in the background, but for now, Yuna felt free. With friends like Hiro, Niko, and Hana, she could dream of a better life—a family of her own, away from the harshness of the orphanage.

As Yuna, Hiro, Hana, and Niko played on the grass, a trio of men in suits approached them, their smiles warm and inviting. The children paused their games, looking up with curiosity.

“Are you the children from Narasu Orphan?” one of the men asked, his voice kind.

The children nodded, beaming with pride. “Yes!” they chorused, their spirits lifted by the attention.

The man continued, “We’re lost and trying to find the orphanage. Can you help us?”

Niko, always the brave one, slid down from the playground and exclaimed, “We can guide you! Follow us!” He gestured enthusiastically, and the men exchanged pleased looks as they followed the children.

As they walked, Yuna found herself beside Hana. She leaned in and whispered, “Do you think they want to adopt someone?”

Hana’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I hope so! I hope they choose one of us!” she replied, her voice bubbling with hope.
