The night felt unusually quiet as Lila made her way toward Phillip's office. The dimly lit corridors of the building stretched out before her, casting long shadows that seemed to follow her every step. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she forced herself to keep moving, reminding herself that this was the only way.

"I can do this," she whispered under her breath. "I have to."

Phillip was no ordinary ally—or enemy, for that matter. His loyalties were as unpredictable as a coin flip, but Lila had a gut feeling that he could be convinced to switch sides if they played their cards right. After all, if Renzo had dirt on him, then Phillip had just as much to lose.

As she approached the door to his office, she hesitated for a brief moment. Her hand hovered over the handle, uncertainty creeping in. What if this was a trap? What if Phillip had already warned Renzo about her plan? She shook her head, pushing the doubt away. There was no turning back now.

Lila pushed the door open and stepped inside, closing it quietly behind her. The room was dimly lit, but Phillip sat at his desk, leaning back in his chair as if he'd been expecting her.

"Lila," Phillip drawled, his voice smooth and calculating. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this little late-night visit?"

She crossed her arms, trying to appear confident even though her nerves were frayed. "I need answers, Phillip. About Renzo."

Phillip chuckled, spinning a pen between his fingers. "Ah, Renzo. Always a popular topic of conversation, isn't he?"

Lila took a step forward, narrowing her eyes. "Cut the crap, Phillip. You know why I'm here."

He smirked, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Do I? You seem awfully tense for someone who claims to know what's going on."

Lila clenched her fists, frustration bubbling up inside her. "Renzo's holding something over all of us, and we need to know what it is. I know you're scared of him, but you don't have to do this alone."

Phillip leaned forward, his expression turning serious. "And what makes you think I'd betray him? Renzo's dangerous, Lila. More dangerous than you realize."

She took a deep breath, locking eyes with him. "You're right. He is dangerous. But you have a choice here, Phillip. You can either help us, or you can go down with him when this whole thing blows up."

For a moment, silence hung in the air. Phillip seemed to be weighing his options, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. Lila could see the gears turning in his mind, the internal struggle playing out on his face.

Finally, he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You don't get it, do you? Renzo doesn't just have leverage on us—he owns us. There's no escaping him."

Lila stepped closer, her voice firm. "There is. We just have to be smart about it."

Phillip scoffed, leaning back in his chair. "And what's your brilliant plan? Go after him head-on? You'll end up like the rest of them—destroyed."

"We're not going after him head-on," Lila replied. "We're going after the people who work for him. We can find a weak link and bring him down from the inside."

Phillip studied her for a long moment, his expression unreadable. "You really think you can win this?"

Lila didn't waver. "I know we can."

Another silence followed, but this time, it was filled with tension, not hesitation. Finally, Phillip stood up, walking over to the window and looking out into the night.

"Alright," he said quietly. "I'll help you. But you better hope you know what you're doing, Lila. Because once we start this, there's no going back."

Lila let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. "Thank you."

Phillip turned to face her, a grim smile on his lips. "Don't thank me yet. We're not out of the woods. Not by a long shot."
