The courtyard had emptied, leaving a heavy silence in its wake. Lila sat on one of the stone benches, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. Everything felt surreal—Noah's secret wealth, Asher's accusations, and Eli's name resurfacing like a ghost she thought she'd buried.

Noah sat beside her, the space between them feeling both too small and too vast at the same time. His hand rested on his knee, tense, as if he wasn't sure whether to reach out to her or not.

"I don't know what to say," Lila finally muttered, her voice barely a whisper. "About any of this."

Noah exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "I should've told you. About everything. But I didn't want... I didn't want things to change between us."

Lila glanced at him, trying to piece together the Noah she thought she knew with the Noah who had just revealed he was richer than Renzo. The quiet, humble guy who she thought was just like her had been hiding a whole other life.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, her voice more steady now, but still fragile.

Noah shrugged, his eyes distant. "Because it shouldn't matter. I didn't want to be treated differently just because of money. I've seen what it does to people. It's ruined friendships, families... I didn't want that for us."

Lila wanted to be angry, to tell him that he should have trusted her, but deep down, she understood. She'd been hiding parts of herself too. Eli's name alone brought a flood of memories, and guilt. Maybe they weren't so different after all.

"I get it," she said quietly. "But we can't keep secrets from each other anymore, Noah. If this is going to work... we need to be honest."

Noah looked at her, his eyes softening. "I agree. No more secrets."

Lila nodded, feeling a strange sense of relief, even though she knew there was still a storm waiting to be dealt with. Eli's name hung over them like a dark cloud, and Asher wasn't finished stirring trouble.

Suddenly, footsteps approached, and they both looked up to see Renzo striding toward them, his face tight with anger.

"Renzo," Noah said, standing up, but Renzo cut him off.

"Don't." Renzo's voice was sharp, his usual cocky demeanor replaced with fury. "You knew, didn't you? You knew about my family's problems, and you said nothing. You just sat there, acting all high and mighty with your secret billions."

Noah's jaw tightened. "I didn't know, Renzo. I swear. What Asher said—"

"Save it!" Renzo snapped. "You let me believe I was on top while you were playing this whole other game behind my back. You're no better than him."

Lila stood, placing herself between the two of them before things could escalate. "Renzo, this isn't helping."

Renzo's glare shifted to her, and for a moment, she saw something in his eyes that made her heart sink. Betrayal, but also hurt. It reminded her of how they had once been friends, before everything got tangled in competition and ego.

"You're all the same," Renzo muttered, shaking his head. "You think you can just walk through life without consequences. But I'm not going down without a fight."

He turned on his heel and stormed off, leaving Lila and Noah standing in the wake of his anger.

"Great," Noah sighed, rubbing his forehead. "As if this day couldn't get any worse."

Lila managed a small smile despite the tension. "At least no one threw punches?"

Noah chuckled softly, the tension easing slightly. "Yeah, I guess that's something."

Just as they were about to head back inside, Kira and Cathy appeared, both of them looking like they'd just run a marathon.

"Guys," Kira panted, catching her breath. "You won't believe what just happened."

"What now?" Lila groaned, half-expecting more bad news.

"Asher's been talking to Jason," Cathy said, her face grim. "They're planning something, and it's not good."

Lila's heart sank. She knew Jason—he was just as cunning and manipulative as Asher, maybe even worse. If they were teaming up, it meant trouble, big trouble.

"We need to figure out what they're up to," Noah said, his expression serious again. "Before they cause more damage."

Kira nodded. "Agreed. But right now, we need to get out of here. The staff is looking for all of us—apparently, there's been some incident with the school board, and they're blaming us."

Lila threw her hands up in exasperation. "Of course they are."

"Can we just have one normal day?" Cathy joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Noah cracked a smile. "That'd be too easy."

As they all headed off together, Lila couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get a whole lot worse. With Renzo furious, Asher and Jason plotting, and Eli's shadow still looming over her, the days ahead were sure to be anything but easy.

But for now, she had her friends. And maybe, just maybe, that would be enough to get through whatever came next.
