The winter guardian carefully carried Selene's unconscious body to her bed and laid her down gently. He berated himself for causing her to faint, but his mind was also racing with realization.
"Did she really see me?" he thought to himself. "Is it possible that she can actually see me now?"Jack's thoughts were a tangle of conflicting feelings-- guilt over the situation and a strange sense of happiness knowing that Selene had seen him. However, he also knew Jamie would be furious if he found out. Jack sat on the edge of the bed, his mind in turmoil, unsure of what to do next.
After a while, Selene slowly opened her eyes, her head pounding. She attempted to sit up but froze when she saw a familiar figure sitting on the edge of her bed. Her words escaped her lips in a hushed whisper.
"Am I still dreaming?"
She wondered if him appearing was just a trick of her mind, a product of her unconscious state. There was a young man with snowy-white hair, skin pale as snow, and dressed in a blue hoodie, leaning against a wooden staff. As he stirred from his slumber, his gaze shifted in her direction, and he saw her staring right at him.
Selene sat up and leaned closer, the moonlight illuminating his youthful, handsome face. She reached a tentative hand towards him, trying to poke his cheek, and gasped when she felt the coldness of his skin.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice filled with a mixture of surprise and confusion. "Who are you?"
Jack smirked and caught her hand as she attempted to poke him. "You shouldn't be poking anyone like that, you know," he said with a cheeky tone.
As he held her hand, he felt the warmth of her skin, stirring a strange sensation within him.
"I'm sorry I startled you. I didn't mean to make you see me," he repeated, silently marvelling at the fact that she could actually see him.
Jack raised an eyebrow, noticing her slight hesitation as she pulled her hand back. He chuckled lightly at her question, amused by her directness.
"Ah, where are my manners?" he replied, his tone casual. "The name's Jack Frost. As for what I'm doing here in your room, well, that's a bit of a long story."
She blinked her eyes when she heard his name, "Jack Frost?," she covered her face with her hands, trying to think if this was all true, "I think I'm still asleep." she lay down once more, thinking that she was still dreaming.
Jack chuckled as Selene seemed to register his name, her surprise evident. When she covered her face with her hands and lay back down, assuming this was all a dream, Jack chuckled a little louder.
"I can assure you, you're wide awake," he said with a hint of amusement in his voice. "Unless, of course, we're sharing the same dream, which seems a bit unlikely, don't you think?"
She slowly sat back up, "Uhm... so if you're the Jack Frost, does that mean that you're the one Jamie was talking about? " she tilted her head a little, "Wait... does that mean that you were in my class earlier, too?"
Jack nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "You got it right. I am indeed the Jack Frost," he confirmed.
"And yes, I was in your class earlier, too. Though, I'm sure you didn't notice me," he added with a hint of amusement.
Selene stared at his face, trying to understand him, "If you were there, why didn't I notice you? and why do I see you now?"
She scooted beside him, "Why are you here in my room?" she softly askedJack listened intently to her questions. He couldn't help but chuckle as he replied, "Ah, the reason you couldn't see me earlier is because usually, only kids can spot me if they hold on to that belief that I exist."
