Song for this chapter: Nothing But You - The Vamps

The city of Melbourne was alive with energy, the streets bustling with people moving in every direction. Oscar Piastri stood on the balcony of his new apartment, taking a moment to soak in the view. It was his first place away from home, a fresh start, and he should have been thrilled. Yet, something—or rather someone—was missing.

Logan Sargeant.

Oscar couldn't shake the feeling of longing that accompanied his thoughts of Logan. The chemistry they shared was electric, and every moment spent together felt like a whirlwind of emotions that left Oscar dizzy. He was madly in love with Logan, and it was both exhilarating and terrifying.

"Earth to Oscar," Logan's voice broke through his reverie, pulling him back to reality. Oscar turned to see Logan leaning against the doorframe, a teasing smile on his face. "You daydreaming again?"

"Maybe," Oscar replied, a smile creeping onto his face. "I was just thinking about how beautiful this view is."

Logan walked over, standing beside him and resting his elbows on the balcony railing. "It is, but not as beautiful as you," he said, glancing sideways at Oscar, his eyes shining with sincerity.

A warmth spread through Oscar at the compliment. Logan always had a way of making him feel special, even when they were just hanging out in his new place. They had been inseparable since they met on the racing circuit, and now, with their friendship blossoming into something deeper, it felt both thrilling and daunting.

"Okay, enough of the mushy stuff," Logan said, pulling Oscar from his thoughts. "What's the plan for tonight?"

"Honestly? I was thinking we could just hang out, watch a movie, maybe order some food," Oscar suggested, trying to play it cool, though his heart raced at the thought of having Logan all to himself.

"Sounds perfect," Logan replied, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "As long as I get to pick the movie. You know I have impeccable taste."

"Impeccable taste?" Oscar laughed. "You mean, terrible taste? Last time you picked a horror movie, and I didn't sleep for a week!"

"Okay, maybe not horror," Logan conceded, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "But you have to admit, the jump scares were top-notch."

They shared a laugh, and Oscar felt the tension in his chest ease a little. Being with Logan always felt effortless, like they were two pieces of a puzzle that fit together perfectly. As they headed inside, Oscar's mind raced with thoughts of how he felt around Logan. He wanted more than just friendship, but he didn't want to risk what they had.

Settling onto the couch, Oscar grabbed the remote and handed it to Logan. "Alright, what are we watching?"

Logan scrolled through the options, his brow furrowed in concentration. "How about a classic?" he suggested. "Something we can both enjoy without you getting scared."

"Deal," Oscar replied, unable to suppress a grin. He leaned back against the cushions, feeling content just being next to Logan.

As the opening credits rolled, Oscar found himself stealing glances at Logan, who was completely engrossed in the film. Logan's features were lit up by the flickering light of the TV, and Oscar couldn't help but admire the way he lost himself in every scene, the little expressions that danced across his face.

Suddenly, Logan turned to him, catching Oscar's gaze. "What?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing," Oscar replied quickly, turning his attention back to the screen. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you in my life."
