Song for this chapter: Kiwi - Harry Styles

The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over Monaco as Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen stepped out of a cozy restaurant, laughter mingling with the soft breeze of the night. It was a rare evening for them, a chance to reconnect and enjoy each other's company after the turmoil of the past few weeks. They had decided to take a leap forward, trying to mend the pieces of their relationship that had been broken by Max's mistakes.

Max had cheated on him with Kelly, his ex-girlfriend, during a time when he was spiraling after enduring emotional abuse from his father. The betrayal had cut deep, and for a while, Charles had questioned everything—his love for Max, their relationship, and whether they could ever rebuild the trust that had been shattered. But after a long, honest conversation, they had decided to stay together and work through the pain, no matter how difficult it might be.

Charles looked stunning in a fitted navy blazer, his dark hair tousled just enough to give him that effortlessly charming look. Max, wearing a simple black shirt that accentuated his physique, felt a rush of warmth as he glanced at Charles, who was beaming despite the weight of their recent challenges. The evening had been filled with lighthearted conversation, teasing, and the comfort of shared history.

"Can you believe we've actually made it out on a date night?" Max teased, nudging Charles playfully as they strolled along the waterfront, the sound of waves crashing gently against the rocks.

"Honestly? I wasn't sure if you could handle it after everything," Charles replied with a smirk, but his eyes sparkled with affection. "But I'm glad we're here."

Max felt a flicker of hope at Charles's words. They had worked hard to get to this point, and he was determined to prove to Charles that he could be the partner he needed. "I promise, I'm going to make this work. I want to be better for you."

Charles's expression softened, and he stopped walking, turning to face Max. "You already are better. You're trying, and that's what matters. It's going to take time, but I'm here for you."

Max took a step closer, his heart racing as he looked into Charles's eyes. "I really appreciate that, Charlie. I don't deserve your support after everything."

"You do," Charles insisted, reaching out to cup Max's face with his hand. "Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is how you choose to move forward."

Just as Max leaned in, ready to capture Charles's lips in a kiss, the moment was shattered by the sudden appearance of Kelly, Max's ex-girlfriend. She approached them with an air of urgency that made Max's stomach drop.

"Max!" she called, her voice sharp and demanding.

Max pulled away from Charles, his heart sinking as he recognized the look on Kelly's face. "What are you doing here, Kelly?"

"I need to talk to you. It's important," she said, her expression serious.

Charles instinctively stepped closer to Max, sensing the tension in the air. "Is everything okay?" he asked, concern etched across his features.

Kelly ignored Charles, her gaze locked on Max. "I.. Well I'm pregnant. And yes it is yours. My family thought it was best I tell you but I don't want you involved."

The words hit Max like a punch to the gut, and he staggered back slightly, trying to process what she had just said. "Wait what.. You're pregnant?" He bit his lip a little thinking about how he was going to proceed. He instinctively grabbed Charles's hand and squeezed it to reassure both himself and his lover. He then processed what she said and a small frown appeared on his face. "Wait. What do you mean you don't want me involved?" he asked, a mix of confusion and anger bubbling within him.
