Song for this chapter: Over and Over Again - Nathan Sykes
The sun peeked through the delicate lace curtains, casting a golden glow across the spacious bridal suite. Oscar Piastri stood before a large mirror, adjusting his tie for what felt like the hundredth time. Today was a day he had dreamed about for years—the day he would marry Logan Sargeant, his best friend and partner.Oscar took a deep breath, glancing at the neatly arranged flowers on the dresser, the vibrant colors mirroring the emotions swirling inside him. Excitement, love, and just a hint of nervousness danced through his veins as he thought about the commitment he was about to make. Logan was everything to him; he was the one who had captured his heart from the very first hello.
As he turned away from the mirror, he caught sight of Lando Norris, his close friend and best man, bustling about the room. Lando was checking his phone, likely confirming the arrival of their other friends, who were already at the venue.
"You ready for this?" Lando asked, a teasing smile on his face.
Oscar couldn't help but grin back, though his heart raced at the thought. "As ready as I'll ever be. Can you believe it's actually happening?"
Lando laughed, shaking his head. "After everything you two have been through, I can't believe you're finally tying the knot. It's about time!"
Oscar nodded, thinking back to the journey that had led him to this moment. From their first meeting at the go-kart track to the late-night conversations that had turned into laughter-filled adventures, every step had brought them closer. Logan was more than just a partner; he was his confidant, his rock, and the one he wanted to spend forever with.
The memories flooded back, and Oscar felt warmth blossom in his chest as he recalled the moment Logan had proposed. It had been a quiet evening after a long day of racing, the world outside fading as they sat on the couch, surrounded by the remnants of takeout and laughter. Logan had looked at him, eyes filled with sincerity, and asked if he would spend the rest of his life with him.
With a gentle nudge, Lando broke Oscar from his thoughts. "Come on! We need to get you down the aisle before you start crying," he teased, nudging him playfully.
Oscar chuckled, but he felt his heart quicken as they made their way to the venue. The air was electric with excitement, and the sun hung high in the sky, illuminating the beautiful outdoor setting adorned with white flowers and twinkling lights. Friends and family filled the rows of chairs, their faces brimming with joy and anticipation.
As Oscar stood at the front, waiting for the ceremony to begin, he felt the butterflies in his stomach fluttering wildly. His heart raced as he caught sight of Logan at the other end, standing tall and confident in his tailored suit. Logan's blonde hair was styled neatly, and he wore a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. The moment their eyes met, Oscar felt the world around him fade away, leaving only the two of them.
The officiant began the ceremony, but Oscar barely heard the words. He was lost in Logan's gaze, which held all the love and promises they had shared. When it came time for their vows, Oscar felt a rush of emotion.
"Logan.. the first hello, that's all it took. And suddenly, I was attached to you." he began, his voice steady despite the tears threatening to spill. "You capture me unlike no other. From the way you smile, to the way you love."
Logan's eyes shimmered with unshed tears as he listened. The crowd was a blur, and all that mattered was the bond they shared.
"And I won't leave you," Oscar continued, feeling the weight of his words. "I'll always be true to me and to you. We are a team, for life."
