Song for this chapter: Rule The World - Take That

Sebastian stood on the balcony, staring up at the night sky. The stars twinkled brightly, scattered like tiny diamonds against the velvet black. There was something about the night that always calmed him, something about the vastness that made his problems feel small, manageable. It was why he had come out here in the first place, to escape the hectic life of Formula 1, to just breathe.

But it wasn't just the stars that kept pulling him outside tonight. It was Kimi.

Kimi Raikkonen, the man who had been quietly, consistently by his side for years now. The man who understood him better than anyone else, even when no words were spoken. Their relationship had always been a secret, hidden behind the façade of teammates, competitors, friends. The world only saw glimpses of their closeness—an inside joke here, a lingering glance there—but they never truly knew.

And maybe that's why this moment, standing alone in the quiet of the night, felt so heavy. There was something different in the air, something that had been building for a while now.

Sebastian heard the sliding door open behind him, and a moment later, he felt Kimi's presence at his side. Kimi was never one to announce himself, never one for grand gestures. But that was part of what Sebastian loved about him—his casual, steady nature. Kimi was the calm in the chaos.

"Nice night," Kimi said, his voice as flat and understated as ever, though Sebastian could hear the warmth underneath it.

"Yeah, it is," Sebastian replied, not looking away from the sky. He felt Kimi's shoulder brush against his as he leaned on the railing, both of them staring up at the same stars.

For a while, they stood in comfortable silence, just the two of them in their own little world. Sebastian's thoughts wandered, thinking back to the years they had spent together—how Kimi had always been there, through the ups and downs, the wins and losses, the laughter and the quiet moments like this one. It hadn't been a relationship filled with flashy declarations or public displays of affection, but it was theirs. Solid. Unshakable.

Sebastian felt Kimi shift beside him, and then Kimi spoke, his voice still as casual as ever.

"You know," Kimi began, his tone so matter-of-fact that it made Sebastian glance over at him, curious, "I've been thinking."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. Kimi wasn't exactly known for his long, reflective speeches. "About what?"

Kimi's gaze remained fixed on the stars. "About us."

The words were simple, but they made Sebastian's heart skip a beat. He wasn't sure where this was going, but something in Kimi's tone made him hold his breath.

"We've been doing this for a while," Kimi continued, still in that calm, even tone that could make anything sound like a routine conversation. "And I'm not really one for all the fancy stuff, you know that."

Sebastian couldn't help but smile. Of course Kimi wasn't. Flashy proposals and dramatic declarations were not his style.

"But," Kimi went on, his eyes finally turning to meet Sebastian's, "I think... it's time we make it official."

Sebastian blinked, unsure if he had heard correctly. "Official?"

Kimi's expression didn't change, though there was a hint of something in his eyes—something soft, something sincere. "Yeah. You and me. We should get married."

For a moment, Sebastian was stunned into silence. He had imagined this moment a thousand different ways, but somehow, Kimi's casual, almost nonchalant proposal was so perfectly... Kimi. It was everything Sebastian loved about him—straightforward, no frills, just pure honesty.
