Warning: Swearing
I opened the door into the house and plopped my things off in front of the closet door where I dropped my back a few hours ago, coat and everything. I tossed my boots into the closet and walked down the hall, where I heard Sky yell "Bingo!" followed by an extremely unenthusiastic "Darn it." which I recognised as Twi.
"Hey," I greeted them, padding up to the dining table where I found Twi and Sky playing various board games, boxes filled with games from chess to Monopoly scattered around the perimeter of the room. Honestly, the dining room could pass for a moving truck that accidentally toppled over.
"Have you guys had dinner yet?"
Twi shook his head.
"And on a further note, I suppose Sky's staying for the night?"
He nodded. "And he's cooking!" I sighed happily. Whenever Sky cooks, you know it's going to be a good day. Except, it's already 8:30 PM.
I bent down and picked up the boxes and scattered game pieces and I brushed them into their respective containers. I popped into the kitchen and I spotted Sky opening the fridge and taking out the tomatoes I bought yesterday on my way home. I sneaked back over to Twi.
"So," I said quietly so Sky wouldn't hear, "I suppose the only reason Sky is staying at all is because of the fact that Mom and Dad are out of town?"
His head bobbed up and down. That's a yes.
His eyes looked down at his feet and he sighed. "I haven't told them yet, since, well, you know," He trailed off.
"Well I think you should," I said to him. His eyes lifted up from the ground and locked onto mine.
"Thanks."
***
"Mmm! This is so good!" Twi exclaimed through mouthfuls of food.
"You always say that about my cooking."
"'Cuz it's good!" he praised.
Sky chucked and Twi laughed, in turn, I plastered my own smiley over my face. All that talk about Sky made me think of Link and that was all I could think about. About his cheesy grin. About his warm smile. I shook my head. I better not be falling for a jock.
"Sooooo..." Twi started.
They both started smirking at me. "How was the date?"
They both had a sly curious look on their faces that almost felt like they had been waiting for a thousand years just to know what had happened during the so-called 'date'. If it had just been him, It would've been fine but as I glanced to his left, Sky was also impatient waiting. I turned towards him.
"Why are you waiting for my answer?"
"Well," he started, "Nevermind."
I sighed. The two looked silly. "Again, not a date," I spoke defensively. Twi just gave me a look that said that he didn't believe me. I took a bite of Sky's famous chicken parmesan.
"Marin told us you were flirting." Twi smirked again. I practically growled through clenched teeth. "Marin?"
"Yeah."
"She swung by the house before you guys got home."
"She did what?" I almost choked on my tomato soup.
"Yeah."
'You guys need to stop snooping and spying on me," I said as calmly as I could muster. Sky must have seen my face morph into passive anger and he fled upstairs, bolting like a scared cat. I hear the door to Twi's room shut in the distance.
