It was a dismal, soggy, day out, but inside the students chattered like it was any other day. Thunder rumbled, shoes squeaked in the halls, voices chattered, lockers opened squeaky and closed with a bang. Conrad Zachary Sorm, or Zak for short, was just on his way to science, when he heard a voice say, "Doggone it, today of all days, why me universe?! Why me?!" Zak looked around the corner to see a girl, about 13, trying to put her things back in her bag, when Brooke Floral, the queen bee of the school, started picking on her. I don't know who you are; nor do I care. Get three things strait: #1 i'm in charge here, don't mess with me, #2 if you want to be normal, you stick with me and my crew, unless you have like, add, adhd, dyslexia something like that, #3, Don't sit at the table in the near center of the lunchroom, that's our table. Now bye and don't be a freak oh wait you already are!" she started laughing. "Shut your mouth." she snapped. If this was a toon Brooke would've had the old steam out of the ears gag. "What?" she asked. "You heard me. Just because I'm not your idea of normal, doesn't mean that in stupid or anyone else like me! I hate it when I'm called stupid! I don't want to even talk to a jerk like you! Just leave me alone!" the younger girl snapped. A smirk made its way to Zak's face. Brooke turned and left. Zak walked towards the new kid, he reached the girl and he held out his hand to her, and she took it. He helped her to her feet, searching her emerald eyes for any signs of injury. She smiled gratefully and held out her hand. "Nina." She stated. Zak returned the smile and shook it "Zak."
He now got a good look at her, his hight dark brown hair cut in a messy asymmetrical pixie crop, tanned skin, a sprinkle of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Nina wore a white t-shirt, jeans, a flannel short-sleeved overshirt, white ankle socks, and high-top sneakers that were, green, midnight blue, and true purple, with white laces. She had an analog watch on her right wrist. Her back pack was black, with a purple stripe leading the front pocket also the true purple color. The zipper was a beige tassel. In her arms she held two books, the larger one had a purple cover looking like a textbook, the smaller one looking like a notebook. Zak was of medium height with Caucasian skin, short messy brown hair, gray-blue eyes, and light freckles across his nose and cheeks. He wore a red T-shirt, black cargo pants with yellow zippers on the sides, a black vest with red trim, a black sweatband on his left wrist, and high-top sneakers that were red, black, white, and orange with crossbones on the tongues. He also wore a head cam above his left eye. "Thanks for helping me, Zak." she stated as the two walked to the next class before thebell ang, trying not to be late. Then Zak noticed the star bird pin on her bag. "Hey, do you like Star wars?" he asked. The girl nodded. He smiled at her saying that he also loved Star Wars. Little did they know, this was only the beginning of their adventures.
