Back at the HUB, Indominus was walking along toward the portal that will lead him forth to the race to the first key, the portal having a sign that reads 'Liberty City'. He takes a look at the scoreboard up above, and saw nobody's name up on it, nobody at all.

"The challenge is to find four keys, but in five years, nobody has even gotten one key. And the big scoreboard? As empty as the Sea of Rust. But then, some long-forgotten gunter has cracked the first clue and found the first challenge. Then, this portal appeared."

Indominus stops and checks the portal before he steps in. As he exits the other side, he saw he was at the startline of a Grand Prix, with large bright screens that read 'First To Central Park'. He then looks on and he can see a multitude of different cars and avatars all getting ready to race. Some of the cars include a DeLorean Time Machine, the General Lee of 'Dukes of Hazzard', the A-Team's GMC Vandura, the Mach-5 of 'Speed Racer', the Ford Interceptor from 'Mad Max', Kaneda's bike from the anime 'Akira', the red Plymouth Fury of 'Christine', the 1966 Batmobile, two F1 Cars from the 'Pole Position' game, the Ecto-88 from 'Ghostbusters', even a black 1970's Dodge Charger from 'Fast & Furious', plus what looks like the Cybertronian tank mode of Megatron from 'Revenge Of The Fallen', as well as the iconic Herbie the Love Bug, and finally, standard NASCAR racecars with the letters 'I.O.I' and QR codes on them.

"But the challenge to win the first key was a race. A death race, if you can call it, that was designed by Halliday himself that was so hard, no one had ever finished it. Nobody has ever crossed the finish line in five years. The only ones still trying are the gunters, as in "egg hunters," like myself, Lupin, Drago, BlackRose, and my best friend, B-626."

As he made his way over to where his friends are, Indominus took notice of an army of those in black suits and helmets with random numbers. They all made their way to the stock cars and they all got in the cars in unison, all as if they're nothing but robots. Indominus could only groan and rolled his eyes at seeing these I.O.I personnel going about and moving about as if they're under mental control.

"Oh, and of course, there's the Sixers. The Sixers all work for IOI, short for Innovative Online Industries. They're the second-largest company in the world, with designs on becoming the first. Which is why they're putting everything they got into winning Halliday's contest, chucking in all the players they can. We all call 'em "Sixers", all because that's the company rule. No name, just numbers. They have a support team made up of Halliday scholars. Like me, they spend all their time studying pop culture that Halliday was obsessed with, trying to find clues to solve the contest. They're all just following the orders of the head of IOI, this total piece of crap named Nolan Sorrento. He sees the OASIS as nothing but money, not a place to enjoy. And that is why everyone is against Sorrento and what he plans for the OASIS."
