Quite a few years had passed since Lúthien came to Mirkwood. She had made many friends, like Virion from the stables and Elvina in the kitchen, there is also Althaea in the healing room. But her bestest friend of all was Eryndor. Eryndor was a guard. He was one of the guards who would vendure the forest to kill the spiders. As his name insists, he was a protector of the forest. Eryndor was a nice ellon but a little chaotic. But he had vowed like all others who had met Lúthien that he would do everything to protect her.

All in all, Lúthien finally felt safe and loved. So she believed it was time to come clean with everything.

It had been quite a lovely morning, and Lúthien thought she was ready. So, she went looking for her Adar. She had tracked him down to his meeting room. She knocked on the door and waited to hear the okay to go in.

Thranduil was in a meeting with Glorfindel, who had come to pass a message for Galadriel. Galadriel wanted to tell Thranduil that a necromancer had appeared in Dol Guldur. And not to panic because Gandalf, Elrond, Saruman, and herself would go to defeat him. But if he wanted his help, it would be greatly appreciated. When he heard the knock on the door, he knew it was his selde because she was the only one who had the guts to interrupt his meeting, also, cause of the special knock she does.

"Enter, seldë nin." Lúthien was ready when she heard him and pushed the door open. What she did not account for was to see a familiar face in her Adar's meeting room. When she saw Glorfindel, she panicked. She thought he had finally found her and was here to drag her back to her grandmother. So, she did the only thing that seemed logical to her at that time. She ran.

Glorfindel was confused. When he heard the knock, he almost scoffed. He wanted to know who was so stupid as to interrupt his meeting with King Thranduil. But when he heard the king call, whoever it was outside the door, daughter, he was even more confused. So, he did not at all think it would be Lord Elrond's youngest daughter. He was flabbergusted.

Thranduil was really worried for his daughter, especially after the face she had after she saw Glorfindel. So, he quickly came to the conclusion that he was someone from her past.

"Glorfindel, tell me the truth. Do you know my soul daughter?" Thranduil asked him.

"Yes, she visited Lothlorien quite a lot when she was younger." Glorfindel answered him, although he was still very confused.

"But, sir, if I may, how do you know her?" Glorfindel asked him in hopes of understanding the situation better.

"Legolas found her. He was going to Harlingdon for something I asked of him. He stayed in the town of Bree for a day or two, and that is where he found her. She was worse for wear and really traumatised, so he brought her with him. She was still an elfling at that moment. After that, I found from Legolas that her family had thrown her out because she did not die instead of her mother. She still has not told us who her family is. So, Glorfindel, if you know anything, I imlore you to tell me, please. She is the only family Legolas and I have." Thranduil pleaded with him.

"To tell you the truth, sir, you know her family too, really well, I might add." Glorfindel told him while trying to come to terms with the fact that they threw her out when they told him otherwise.

"Really?! And who might they be?" Thranduil asked him.

"Lúthien is the youngest daughter of Lord Elrond and a daughter of Lothlorien. She is also the Lady of the Forest, as she can communicate and control plants." Glorfindel answered him, although he added that last bit of information reluncantly.

Thranduil was astounded. He could not believe that 'The' Lord Elrond, who prided himself as the modelf elf, would throw out his own daughter. He simply could not believe it. But if that was true, it would mean Elrond could claim her back whenever he wanted, afterall he was a really influential figure in the elf kingdom. He could not allow that. He had to come up with something, and he had to act fast.

"Thank you, Glorfindel. You have been really helpful. Now I have some matters to attend to, I will come find you later." Thranduil told him and left urgently to find his son.

Glorfindel was confused by the sudden urgency, but he did not give it much thought. As he did not have anything else to do, he chose to take a stroll through the garden.

Lúthien, on the other hand, as soon as she had seen Glorfindel, she had run to find her best friend Eryndor. He was the only one from her new life who knew the whole truth. She had found him in the garden, and as soon as her eyes had landed on him, she threw herself at him while crying.

Eryndor did not see that coming. The only thing he saw was a blur running at him, with the corner of his eye. But when he understood it was Lúthien and that she was crying, he latched onto her without letting go. He did not know why she was crying, but it was obvious that she needed someone to lean on at that moment. He had swared long ago that he would be her rock and her protector. So, he stayed with her for as long as she needed.

Glorfindel came upon the scene of Eryndor hugging Lúthien protectively and felt a slight pang in his heart. He did not know why, but he had a feeling that he should have been the one hugging her.

Now, without Lúthien's and Glorfindel's knowledge, something extraordinary had happened. And for somebody to know and understand what had happened, they would have to take a closer look at their fae. Not that the change would be so easy to spot. It small changes like the brighter colour on their fae and the slight pull between them. In other words, Luthien and Glorfindel were soulmates. Why did they not feel it? That is because the soulmate bond is more subtle than a familial bond, and more often than not, the recipients of that bond do not feel it.
