The next day, they were ready to leave for Harlingdon. They left early in the morning to cover more ground. Lúthien followed Legolas to his travels as he was the only family she had now. It took them three days to reach Harlingdon and five days to come to an agreement with the elves there. The journey back to Mirkwood took a whole week. But for Lúthien it was the best week of her life. Lúthien will never forget the day that they reached Mirkwood because that day came with another surprise.

They were nearing Mirkwood when a feeling of darkness came through her. Suddenly, she was feeling so sad. How could such a vast and beautiful forest be so sick, she thought to herself. And because she was so in tune with her powers over flowers, she could hear them crying and calling for help, but she could do nothing.

"Hannar nin... why is the forest so sick?" she asked Legolas.

"Because of the spiders..." he told her.

"No, there is something else that made it so sick.... there is a strange power over the forest..." she told him.

"Well.... muinthel nin.... you didn't hear it from me, but there is an unusual traffic in Dol Guldur... something is happening, and it won't be long till we find out what...." he wishpered to her.

After a while, they had reached the entrance  to the city of Mirkwood without problems. Lúthien was in awe because the forest outside of the gates may have been sick, but inside, it was thriving with power. It was like it was alive. It was beautiful. When they reached the stables at the palace, they got off the horses.

"Virion..." called Legolas.

Lúthien saw a pretty ellon with dark chocolate brown hair and light brown eyes coming out off the stables. He obviously was the caretaker here at the stables, and from what she understood, his name was Virion.

"Prince Legolas, welcome back home." he said.

"Yes, I'm back..... Virion, I would like to introduce you to my soul sister, Lúthien. I would like you to take care of her horse as if it were mine." Legolas told him.

"Of course, your Highness. And welcome to Mirkwood Lady Lúthien. " Virion answered.

"Thank you, Virion, for the warm welcome." exclaimed Lúthien.

"Come now, muinthel nin, let me take you to your quarters to get ready. We are just in time for dinner." Legolas told her.

Lúthien followed Legolas while looking around her. The palace was truly magnificent. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't see Legolas stopping, and she bumped into him.

"Sorry... I was just admiring the castle." she shyly said.

Looking at her being so shy, Legolas chuckled. His sister was so cute, he thought to himself.

"It's okay... but please be more careful next time. I would be really sad if you fell down." he told her.

"Now we're here. This will be your room from now on. My room is right across from yours if you need anything. I will send you two maids to help you get ready while I go see adar nin. Go.... I will come get you when it's time for dinner. " he said.

Lúthien opened the door to her quarters, and she almost cried. It had been so long since she had her own room.

"Hannar.... thank you, it's beautiful." she wishpered.

While Lúthien was in her room getting ready, Legolas went to see his father.

"Adar, I have returned." he told his father.

King Thranduil may have been a slightly cruel king, but he was a good father. So when his son returned from his trip, he had immediately seen the change in his mood. He was glowing, meaning he was extremely happy about something. Now Thranduil, overprotective as he was, he was extremely curious about what made his son so happy. So he couldn't help himself but ask.

"Legolas, welcome back. I believe you were successful with the negotiations?" he asked.

"Yes, Adar." Legolas reassured him.

"Now, I can see it in your eyes. Something else must have happened as well. Tell me." Thranduil demanded.

"Adar... I found her." Legolas whispered.

"Who did you find Legolas?" Thranduil asked curiously, thinking it was his mate that he found.

"My soul sister, Lúthien " Legolas told him.

Thranduil didn't know what to say. He was truly happy for his son, but finding one's soul family was so rare that he had no words. After processing the news, he hugged his son.

"Congratulations, Legolas. That is quite a feat you accomplished." he told him.

"Thank you, Father." he wishpered.

I know this chapter is quite small, but I was busy these few days. On other news,  Lúthien finally has a family. I'm so happy for her. In the next chapter, she is meeting Thranduil, and there is quite a surprise for her as well. I can't wait.
