The evening sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow across The Lang living room. Y/N, Kara, and Leslie were engrossed in a heated round of Uno, the colorful cards scattered across the coffee table as a talk-show blared on the TV in the background. Leslie was talking to them of her recent podcast milestones, her excitement contagious.

"Seriously, the response has been insane! I've never seen this many subscribers in such a short time," Leslie exclaimed, eyes bright with enthusiasm.

"Can you blame them? You're great! Every time you talk, your feelings are contagious," Y/N complimented with a smile, placing a card on the stack.

Leslie chuckled "I think it's all because of the recent interview with ya, Kara, I really do. Ever since I've been getting called the podcast for heroes, it's great!" She exclaimed.

Kara nodded in agreement, her cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. "Yeah, your enthusiasm for Supergirl definitely adds to the charm."

Before Leslie could respond, a sudden hush fell upon the room, only the TV continued on with the blaring. The animated conversation dwindled, and Kara's super-senses tingled, alerting her to the eerie silence outside.

She raised a hand suddenly to stop the others in their thoughts as she looked around. This feeling was strange.

"The birds..." Kara began, her voice trailing off as she frowned, her expression shifting to concern.

"What's wrong?" Y/N asked in a hushed tone, noticing the change in Kara's demeanor.

"Krypto. He's stopped barking at the squirrels," Kara whispered, her worry palpable.

Leslie raised a brow "Maybe he just got tired?"

but Y/N's eyes widened in alarm. "That's not normal. What do you think it could be?"

"I'm not sure," Kara admitted, standing up from the game. "Let me check outside."

As Kara moved toward the window, her hand reached for the blinds. But before she could draw them shut, a knock at the door shattered the tense atmosphere.

Kara raised a finger to her lips, signaling for silence. She moved swiftly, her super-speed allowing her to reach the door in an instant. Just as she was about to open it, a blinding burst of red energy slammed into her, sending her crashing backward with a grunt of surprise.

"What in the world!" Leslie exclaimed, jumping to her feet as she rushed to Kara's side.

"Kara, are you okay?" Y/N's voice trembled with concern as he rushed to Kara's side. Leslie's eyes widened in alarm as she scanned the room for any signs of danger.

Before Kara could respond, Leslie's eyes caught a glimpse of something outside the window. Her gaze narrowed, recognition flashing across her face.

"It's Black Manta," Leslie announced, her voice tinged with urgency. "He's here! The Legion found me!"
