Our Friends Were Whomped by a Willow

We're halfway through the sorting ceremony, and there's been no sign of Harry or Ron.  I'm sure they're both in trouble, I just hope they weren't expelled.  Ginny had been placed in Gryffindor, and Luna was now going up.  A few moments after the Sorting Hat had been placed on her head...

Sorting Hat: RAVENCLAW!

Ava and I both cheered as she went to sit down in the table, but she looked almost sad.

YN: She looks disappointed.  I guess she wanted to be in our house with you.

Ava: She'll be alright.  I'm shocked I'm in this house anyways.  I'm the only Lovegood to ever be placed in another house than Ravenclaw.

YN: Well, I think it's a good fit for you.

Her face turned a bit red.  Dumbledore gave his announcements and the feast began, but a few minutes in, Snape came in and whispered something in McGonagall's ear.  Her face contorted in rage for a split second, before she regained her composure and both teachers swiftly left the Great Hall.  I turned to Ava and Hermione.

YN: That can't be good, right?

After the feast, where we heard quite a few rumors and theories of what happened to Harry and Ron, we went to our common room, where they were sitting in silence.

YN: What the hell happened?  People have been saying you two crashed into the Whomping Willow!

Ava: The Whomping Willow?  What's that?

YN: It's a willow.  It whomps.

Ava: Uh... okay?

The two explained what had happened, and Hermione glared at them.

Hermione: You two are lucky you weren't killed.  Let alone expelled!

The portrait hole opened and the rest of our house came storming in.

Lee: Brilliant!  Inspired!  What an entrance!  Flying a car right into the Whomping Willow, people'll be talking about that one for years!

People treated them as though they'd just won a marathon.  Fred and George pushed their way to the front of the crowd.

Fred / George: Why couldn't you've called us back, eh?

Ron was scarlet in the face, grinning embarrassedly, but we could see one person who didn't look happy at all.  Percy was visible over the heads of some excited first years, and he seemed to be trying to get near enough to start telling them off.  I nudged Harry in the ribs and nodded in Percy's direction.  He got the point at once.

Harry: Got to get upstairs, bit tired.

The two of them started pushing their way towards the door on the other side of the room, which led to a spiral staircase and the dormitories.  I hugged Ava then followed them.  We passed Hermione, who was wearing a scowl just like Percy's.  We managed to get to the other side of the common room, Harry and Ron still having their backs slapped, and gained the peace of the staircase.  We hurried up it, right to the top, and at last reached the door of our old dormitory, which now had a sign on it saying "second years".  We entered the familiar circular room, with its curtained beds and narrow windows.  Our trunks had been brought up for us and placed at the ends of our beds.  Ron grinned guiltily at Harry.

Ron: I know I shouldn't've enjoyed that or anything, but-

The dormitory door flew open and in came the other second year Gryffindor boys, Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, and Neville Longbottom.

Seamus: Unbelievable!

Dean: Cool.

Neville: Amazing

I couldn't help it and grinned.  We all started laughing, before heading off to bed.
