Harry Blew Up His Aunt

YN: Harry!

We waved at Harry, who came running over.  Hermione, Ron, and I were sitting outside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor.  He grinned at us.

Ron: Finally!  We went to the Leaky Cauldron, but they said you'd left, and we went to Flourish and Blotts, and Madam Malkin's, and-

Harry: I got all my school stuff last week.  And how come you knew I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron?

Ron: Dad.

Hermione: Did you really blow up your aunt, Harry?

Harry: I didn't mean to.

Ron and I were laughing hysterically, and Harry looked like he was trying not to smile.

Harry: I just... lost control.

Hermione: It's not funny, you two.  Honestly, I'm amazed Harry wasn't expelled.

Harry: So am I.  Forget expelled, I thought I was going to be arrested.  Ron, your dad doesn't know why Fudge let me off, does he?

Ron: Probably 'cause it's you, isn't it?  Famous Harry Potter and all that.  I'd hate to see what the Ministry'd do to me if I blew up an aunt.  Mind you, they'd have to dig me up first, because Mum would've killed me.

We laughed a bit.

Ron: Anyway, you can ask Dad yourself this evening.  We're staying at the Leaky Cauldron tonight too!  So you can come to King's Cross with us tomorrow!  YN and Hermione are there as well!

I smirked, and Hermione nodded, beaming.

Hermione: Mum and Dad dropped me off this morning with all my Hogwarts things.

Harry: Excellent!  So, have you got all your new books and stuff?

Ron: Look at this!

He pulled a long thin box out of a bag and opened it.

Ron: Brand new wand!  Fourteen inches, willow, containing one unicorn tail hair.  And we've got all our books.

He pointed at a large bag under his chair.

YN: What about those Monster Books huh?  I told you that one sucked.

Ron: The assistant nearly cried when we said we wanted three.

Harry: What's all that, Hermione?

Hermione had not one but three bulging bags in the chair next to her.

Hermione: Well, I'm taking more new subjects than you, aren't I?  Those are my books for Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Study of Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies-

Harry: You're Muggle-born Hermione.  Why are you taking Muggle Studies?

Ron: Your mum and dad are Muggles!  You already know all about Muggles!

Hermione: But it'll be fascinating to study them from the wizarding point of view!

YN: Are you planning to eat or sleep at all this year, Hermione?

Ron snorted, but Hermione ignored us.

Hermione: I've still got ten Galleons.  It's my birthday in September, and Mum and Dad gave me some money to get myself an early birthday present.

YN: What about a nice book?

Harry and Ron laughed, but Hermione glared at me.

Hermione: No, I don't think so.  I really want an owl.  I mean, Harry's got Hedwig, YN's got Riko.  And you've got Errol-
