the devil doesn't bargain

Sam pulled up to the scene in shock, not hesitating to get out of her car. She made her way toward the scene, watching as they hesitantly covered a black bag over Judy's body.

She crawled under the yellow crime scene tape, getting ready to book it toward the house until someone reached out and stopped her.

"Miss, you can't be here- you can't be here." The man reached out and stopped Sam.

"What?" She asked, "No- no I'm sorry I know- I know her twins."

"I'm sorry," The officer said, stepping back slightly.

Sam grew frantic, "No her son, her son Wes is he-" She stopped, unable to finish her sentence.

"I'm sorry," The officer said again, sending her an apologetic look.

"And-and Willa?" Sam defeatedly asked, her shoulders slumping.

He didn't say anything, instead leading her out from under the crime scene tape again. Her eyes continuously landed on the house, a look of sadness taking over. They were dead, she thought.

She began to breathe heavily, the realization hitting her by the second. Someone suddenly tapped her on the shoulder, catching her attention. "Excuse me,"

Sam turned to see Gale Weathers, "Oh my god." She mumbled, looking at her in shock. "You're... well you're you."

"Last time I checked," Gale responded with raised eyebrows. "Are you okay? You seem like you're having a bit of a moment. Did you know the Sheriff?"

She shook her head, blinking a few times. "Sort of. She didn't like me very much."

Gale tilted her head to the side, "She didn't really like me either."

"Um... I'm Samantha. Sam Carpenter." Sam responded, "My sister and I were attacked."

"Oh. Sorry to hear that," Gale said. "I'm Gale-" Gale stopped, her eyes landing on Dewey in the distance. "Riley." She realized what she said, quickly fixing her mistake. "Weathers. Gale Weathers. Excuse me."

Sam watched as Gale ran toward Dewey, a shocked look still sitting on her features.

"Get that thing away from me!" A sudden shriek was heard, catching all of their attention. "I said no!"

Sam recognized that voice. That voice belonged to Willa Hicks. Without thinking she booked it past the yellow tape, maneuvering so the officer couldn't grab her. She ran past Dewey and Gale, finding a group of paramedics attempting to hold Willa down. "Hey, hey!" She screamed, running forward. "Let go of her!"

Just as she went to step forward again, an arm reached out to stop her. She glanced over to see Chad, his eyes on Willa. "She's lashing out. Won't let anyone touch her, not even me."

"Sh-she survived?" Sam breathlessly asked, looking back at Willa.

"All because of him," Chad softly said.

"Be-because of-of Wes?" She asked.

"No. Because of him-" Chad moved his hand, pointing to the right. A little bit away sat Oliver, listening as the medics tried to check him for any injuries.

"S-so Wes-" She stopped, wiping her cheek as a tear fell.

"Yeah," Chad quietly spoke, his jaw clenching. His eyes never left Willa, flickers of emotion filtering through his eyes. He wrapped an arm around his stomach, resting the other one on top. He pressed his thumb to his bottom lip, watching.
