So many questions. So many worries. One thing's for sure, love is a fucking battlefield.

Anthony sat at the edge of the bed consumed in frustration. This wasn't how the all-star break was supposed to start. The stillness of the room hit him like a ton of bricks to the chest. It told him just how badly he messed up. She never left when things got ugly. She always grinded through the hard times with him until things were fixed. She always forgave him and wanted to move forward as quickly as possible.
The silence haunted him enough to draw tears from his eyes that slowly dripped down his cheeks. He can't remember the last time he cried regardless of what it was from, but he hated the feeling.
Hated the feeling of failure. Hated the feeling of not being good enough. Hated the feeling of defeat. When he faced these negative thoughts in baseball, he always found a way out of the slump some way, somehow. But this? This was a different ballgame. He had no idea where to even begin.
He pressed the side button on his phone to see her picture on his lockscreen. God she was beautiful. Such an amazing human. I don't deserve you. A tear crashed down on his screen, forcing him to snap out of the negative trance he was succumbing to.

His fingers toggled between texting Aaron or not. As much as he wanted to talk to Aaron, Anthony knew this was something he had to fix on his own and not depend on the captain for once.

You have every right to be mad at me and I'm sorry that I hurt you. Please give me a chance to make this right. I know you want your space right now, so I'll respect that but just know that I'm going crazy without you. I love you Aria Giaquinto-Ortiz ❤️
Anthony was somehow able to put together a simple but meaningful text considering how jumbled his mind was. He didn't expect to hear back from her, but he hoped his efforts wouldn't go unnoticed.
Time seemed to go by slowly once he laid back down in bed. After the first four times, he couldn't bare to scroll through their pictures again. Each time his phone beeped he was met with utter disappointment when a different name popped up. He turned the tv on to help distract him but nothing could spark his interest. This was supposed to be their time together. The lack of joy he was feeling during these simple tasks had him wondering how he ever did it without her before she came into his life.
His mom was calling and he was in no shape to answer, but he knew he couldn't keep avoiding her.
