Loose lips sink ships.

Anthony sat there trying to unscramble the bomb that Aria just dropped on him.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He said still annoyed.

"I don't know, I was just waiting for the right time I guess." Aria let out a big sigh of frustration with herself.

"And this was it?"

"You know what, nothing is set in stone yet so if you have a problem with it I'm fine with bailing because you don't seem too happy about it anyways."

"Noooo, no, no, no..." Anthony let out a big breath, reaching over to grab her hand, pausing for a little to read her reaction. "There's no way I would have any problem with that at all." He locked fingers with hers and kissed the back of her hand.

He snuck glances at her as he drove. The city lights seemed to beam off her face differently now. They've been together for almost two months now, but the idea of her moving to New York made everything feel even more official.

She stayed quiet for the rest of the car ride home and he wasn't sure why. She continued holding his hand, so she had to have cooled off by now.

Anthony peeked at her staring out the window, then looked down at their hands interlocked.

"I love you." He said softly.

"I love you too." Aria replied, her tone much more gentle now.

The Yankees had just two more games against the Mariners before the All-Star break. The break that couldn't come any sooner for Anthony. As much as he loved baseball his whole life, he was beginning to feel burnt out. His current numbers spoke loudly of that. He couldn't wait to relax and actually experience life with Aria for the first time without baseball.

His phone beeped in his pocket with a text message alert and she didn't bother to ask who was texting him this late. Aria fully trusted him enough to not feel the need to. But she just had a lot on her mind about everything that transpired tonight. From Julio, to Anthony's tantrum, to her prematurely blurting out her plans.

It all sounded perfect in Anthony's head, but Aria knew there would be sacrifices to be made that he doesn't know about yet. Would he still feel the same about it once he knew?

I'd like to say that Margot's bigass mouth rubbed off on me after all these years but nope, this one was 100% on me. His attitude caught me slipping and now I'm in the midst of regret and relief.

Relief because now I know he loves the idea of me moving in. But regret because I couldn't muster up the courage to tell him the whole situation. He only knows the happy half of it, and for tonight I'll leave him with that until we are on better terms.

After talking to my financial advisor, I absolutely have to take three classes this next Fall semester in order to transfer to the school in New York for the next Spring semester. Yes, that means in a couple of weeks I will have to stay back in California to finish these classes until December. I'm hoping that Anthony will come and stay with me in Palo Alto after his season is over while I finish the semester up. Then we can start moving my things up to New York in January/February. He will start spring training when I start my spring semester.

I have everything planned out to the T in regards to timing. But the one thing out of my control is how we are going to be able to manage the distance. I fully trust him, but it's going to be rough if he can't even control his shit when other men are around me. Now add the distance to the equation and I'm already starting to get irritated with the idea of the future tantrums he will throw at me while we are apart.

I love him. All I can do at this point is continue to try and make him feel like the luckiest man in the world, just like how he makes me feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Even when he pisses me off like tonight, I wouldn't change a thing about him or us. I'm in this for the long run.

His phone beeped in his pants and I assume it's Aaron checking on Anthony since he played like shit today. I wonder if it was because of the Julio thing? Imagine throwing a hissyfit at your game because of that and you're girl is just out there enjoying her shake and fries unbeknownst to it. Like, he really needs to stop worrying about me. Okay and now I really need to stop thinking about how irritating tonight was.

Sex, yes. That's what I think we need right now. At least that's what'll take me out of this bad mood.

I placed his hand on my thigh slightly up my skirt, dangerously close to his favorite part on me. He turned and looked at me with a surprised yet extremely pleased look on his face. His fingers began to wiggle their way closer to my center as I rubbed the back on his neck with mine. I fucking love this man.

He knew knew he was a handful when it came to other men around his girlfriend. And Anthony trusted her 100%, but in his defense, Anthony has never had a relationship that felt intense like this before. Like actual, love. It was scary for him to feel vulnerable, but something about her made him knock those walls down. And when people or things from the outside threatened that vulnerability, he retreated to putting those walls back up. He wasn't perfect. He was still learning how to really love a woman for the first time.

Aria slipped his hand up her skirt and his brain cut off all of the negative thoughts he was having instantly. He was an asshole to her tonight yet she still wanted him. She always made him feel like the luckiest man alive, even when he knew he didn't deserve it. His mind now raced with all the things he wanted to do to her.

He couldn't wait to get upstairs as he gathered his things from the backseat, while Aria started making her way to the parking lot elevator. He forgot he even got a text until he heard his phone beep again. Quickly opening his phone to respond, he suddenly felt his heart drop at what he saw.

Heyy! I'm in New York too
Let's meet up rn 😛

His heart pounded at the idea of how close to a disaster that could have been had he checked his phone while driving home. Or worse, if his phone was out and she saw.

He glanced over to Aria holding the elevator door open for him, already feeling horrible for what he was about to do.

He put his phone back into his pocket before meeting her at the elevator. She pulled him into a deep kiss as her hands wandered all over his back under his shirt. She wanted him and he still wanted her just as bad, but now his mind was uneasy. After the night they just had, after the words that were just exchanged, after her efforts to move past it all, she can't know that text ever happened.
