The day of Adri's birthday party had finally arrived, and I was hyped. I'd spent the entire afternoon getting ready, picking the perfect outfit, and making sure everything was on point. Patrick's necklace, the one he gave me, was hanging around my neck, catching the light just right. It added this special touch that made everything feel a little extra.

I took one last look in the mirror, adjusting my dress—a deep blue that made my eyes pop. The soft fabric hugged my body just the way I liked it. A little spritz of my favorite perfume and I felt good to go. I smiled at my reflection and whispered, "Alright, let's do this." I just hoped Patrick would like my outfit as much as I did.

With every passing second, my heart raced faster. I couldn't wait to see him. Just as I was wondering if he was running late, I heard a knock. My mom called, saying, "Patrick's here!" I rushed downstairs.

"I'm heading to Adri's party," I told my mom.

"Tell Adriana I said happy birthday!" she called back.

As I reached the door, there he was. Patrick looked good. He was in a crisp button-up shirt that fit him perfectly, and dark jeans. His hair was styled just right, but it was the way he looked at me that made my heart skip. He was staring at me like I was the only person in the room.

"Wow," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "You look incredible."

I couldn't help but blush. "Thanks! You look amazing too," I grinned back, feeling all kinds of flustered.

We made our way to the car, arm in arm, and the drive to Adri's place was filled with light banter and laughs. It felt so easy to talk to him. Honestly, it felt like we'd known each other forever, and every minute spent together only made me feel more connected to him.

When we got to Adri's house, her mom greeted us at the door. "Hey, I'm heading out to grab something. Kat, is this your boyfriend Patrick?" she asked, eyeing us with a smirk.

I blushed, glancing at Patrick, and nodded. "Yeah... Mom," I said, my heart racing a little.

Her mom smiled and winked. "Ana's inside, make sure she doesn't cause any mess till I get back."

"Yes, Mom," I said, leading Patrick into the house.

The vibe inside was lit. The music was pumping, people were laughing, and fairy lights were twinkling everywhere, giving the whole place a warm, cozy feel. I spotted Adri right away. She was talking to a group of friends, her face lighting up when she saw us. "Kat! Patrick!" she shouted, waving us over.

I rushed to give her a big hug. "Happy birthday!" I grinned, so excited to be part of her special day.

"Thank you! I'm so happy you guys made it!" she said, her eyes sparkling. She looked at Patrick and teasingly added, "And you, mister. Hope you came prepared for the party!"

Patrick laughed, and I held up a small wrapped box with a big smile. "I think we did pretty well," I said, handing her the gift—Jade Kason's latest album, something she'd been talking about non-stop.

Her eyes lit up as she tore open the wrapping. "Oh my gosh, this is perfect! Thank you!" She pulled me into a hug. Seeing her so happy made me feel so good.

The night was everything—a mix of dancing, laughing, and just enjoying time with my friends. Patrick and I kept sneaking glances at each other, making each moment feel even more special.

Around us, there was Dalia and her boyfriend George, laughing and dancing together, their chemistry undeniable. Alista and Vinita were in the corner chatting, both dressed to impress as always. Justin and Brailey were chatting with some people by the snacks, and of course, Adri was in her red gown, shining like the star of the night.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Olivia Parker. She was talking to Patrick, laughing louder than anyone else. It hit me like a wave—she's so charming. She's the kind of person who can steal anyone's attention, and I couldn't help but feel a little insecure. I tried to shake it off, but I could feel my smile fading a bit.

"Hey, you good?" Adri asked, nudging me gently.

I forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine," I said, trying to keep my voice chill.

Adri grabbed my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "You and Patrick are solid. Don't let anyone get in your head."

I nodded, her words giving me a little boost. I grabbed a snack and tried to enjoy the party, but every now and then, I caught myself looking back at Patrick and Olivia, my insecurities creeping in.

Then, like he sensed I needed him, Patrick walked over a big grin on his face. "Hey, I was looking for you!" His voice was warm, and instantly, all my doubts melted away.

I smiled, feeling lighter. "Just grabbing some food," I said, feeling my heart flutter.

He held out his hand. "Wanna dance?"

I didn't hesitate. "Absolutely."

As we moved to the music, I let go of everything—every doubt, every insecurity. In his arms, everything felt perfect. His eyes locked onto mine, and at that moment, I knew. Whatever came next, I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Surrounded by my friends, the music, and Patrick's warm embrace, I couldn't have asked for a better night. The necklace around my neck, the one he gave me, felt like the perfect reminder of how far we'd come. Everything felt right.
